92 Tasting Notes
Day 5 of the David’s Tea Advent calendar. Made this when we were going out to grab groceries. Shared it with my husband, mostly because he really enjoyed it. Said he didn’t get any coffee cake from it though, just yummy flavors. He said he’d drink it daily. I enjoyed it as well but I’ve never seen him take to one so strongly.
Preparation
Second day of the Advent Calander. Coffee Tea? YES. Get in my face quickly.
Once steeped the coffee element is a lot more subtle then I’d expected it to be. I’ve only had Yerba Mate once or twice, and a good while ago so I didn’t know what kind of flavor I’d get there. I enjoyed the flavor over all quite a bit, and so did my husband who rarely agrees with me on anything when it comes to tea.
The one thing I will say, I’ve heard Yerba Mate is energizing and I got none of that from this tea. I drank it in the evening and it did nothing to give me a refresh. In fact I dozed off halfway through the glass, finished it upon waking up, and went straight to sleep.

Preparation
The first day of the Advent Calander I bought myself while in Toronto. Gotta say, its a good starting point. I’m a fan of Peppermint, so this is right up my alley. The mint is subtle though, not overwhelming like some I’ve had. I’d definitly drink this again, and may order it if it comes back in stock.

Third day of the advent calander
I…don’t like Genmaicha as a general rule, so I’m not a good judge of this. That said, I don’t dislike it as much as I’ve disliked some others. I wouldn’t buy a bag of it though.
Flavors: Green, Rice, Roasted, Vegetal
Preparation
Mine is loose, and apparently older then god because I can’t remember who I got this from. The flavors a little tame, probably because of its age, but its still quite drinkable. Trying to get my stash worked down because its seriously built up on me and the summer/fall being so mild had me drinking more coffee then tea. Goal is to get it whittled enough by new years to cash in on some of the good sales after christmas without any guilt!
Flavors: Chocolate
Preparation
I got this from the Pass the Stash Teabox. I took it mainly because I’ve not had much of a chance to deal with Mate’s in general, and I’m hoping to find more wake up options then just plain old coffee.
Let me say, first impression is I have had liquor smell less boozy then this stuff does in the bag. I’m hoping this is like 52teas where it has a lot of scent but the flavor isn’t the same strength because if this tastes like that we’ve got a problem.
Alright I’ve tasted it an I really don’t mind it. I may have underleafed it though because I get coconut and hot water pretty much. And after I pulled my steeper out, it looked like what I had put in was cut in half so maybe it had fluffed up some in the bag? I don’t hate this but I’m glad I have more to give it another go. The good news is Tiesta Tea is sold at Meijer by me so if I like it as a coffee alternative I can get it easily.

The first thing out of the PTS box that I simply HAD to try as soon as I could. I want my world to smell like this tea does. So lovely. As for flavor, its mild and easy to drink if you like lavender and chamomile, but nothing outrageous. I still might buy some to keep on hand for nights when I need to calm down.

Preparation
Okay, let me preface this review with something. I quit smoking five years ago with minimal trouble. I’d been smoking for about 10 years, and I just stopped one day. I was evil for two weeks and to this day have dreams of smoking when I’m stressed.
When I say trying to give up pop is harder then that EVER was, I’m in no way exaggerating. I’ve tried probably 10 times and I always go back, so I’ve settled into ‘minimal pop’ like one or two a week instead. My drug of choice is, and always will be Mountain Dew.
This tea is either going to help those cravings, or make them 100000x worse. We’ll see as time progresses which way it goes. At any rate, the smell even has the scent of carbonation, which is awesome and weird all at once. Frank did an epic job with this one. Iced its super refreshing, but I don’t know if I’d enjoy it hot.
