I bought a tin of this tea as I like it a lot, and surprisingly every cup produces a flavor that grows on me everytime. This is a maple tea so I had the genius idea of having pancakes and maple syrup this morning, with nothing else but a nice hot cup of OH CANADA!
What can I say, the contrast of flavors between the hot tea and the pancakes was fun and intriguing. If your Canadian ( Like me ), be patriotical and drink OH CANADA, and watch hockey ( because hockey is an awesome sport, go habs go ).
This rooibos is fantastic. It has this great maple syrup aroma and a sweet backtaste without being sugary. The smell of this tea could fill up a house with a magnificant smell that catches the attention of everyone. I reccomend this tea to be served not too hot, but not too cold.
What the HECK am I drinking!?
It’s not even tea. But it’s mildly tasty.
fruit, berries, peppercorns – yes.
Ginger, thankfully, it isn’t ‘in yo face’
Same with the cardamom.
This is surprisingly ‘ok’ but it confuses me…I didn’t think I would like it. Hum…
Onto my black tea…I need my black tea to start my day! This choose was completely random first thing in the morning! LOL
SMELL:

That clip is from Kung Pow: Enter The Fist…which is a horrible stupid, yet funny parody movie from several years ago. DH and I have an ongoing joke that when people SCREAM or YELL something that’s totally random we always say “THAT’S A LOTTA NUTS”.
Anyhow…
I must say…the first taste was really REALLY weird and I didn’t really like the first sip experience.
I decided to try it again. It improved a little bit but, I, just like Doulton who sent this to me as well as previously reviewed, am having a hard time tasting the almonds. There is a it of nut taste but it seemed quite fake.
To be honest the fruity, tarty, Apple, Beetroot thing…confused the NUTS out of me!
The description says decidedly addictive…I disagree…
I’m enjoying in a bit more now than at first but I have to say I would never buy it. I, am, however REALLY excited I got to try it and log it tho! Thanks Doulton!!!
This is just very confusing because it smells like one tea and tastes like a completely different one…eeeeeh.
Kung Pow is one of those movies that I don’t want to admit to liking because it is sooooo stupid. But i do!
“I am a great magician. You’re clothes are red!”
This is a lovely tea. Thank you David’s for including this free sample with my order. Visually the tea is very lovely. Take a look at the photograph and imagine the colours looking more vivid. The taste is just sensational—delicate but strong enough that the Cherry taste really does come through. This would make a great offering for guests and a real treat for any occasion. I didn’t slurp it down but drank it delicately.
I was also much more careful than usual about heating and cooling the water, which undoubtedly pays off.
Preparation
Forever nuts? Forever nursery school! As a night-time non-caffeinated tea, this succeeds. I am, however, wondering if I will ever again be able to love a tea that seems geared towards a two year old audience. The bright cheery cherry red color (from beetroot) does not transform the fact that the beverage tastes like very very weak hot apple cider.
I could not detect the nuts at all. I purchased this tea as an almond-lover, but the tea seems to be all apple with a dash of cinnamon. If there is a nut taste (and I’ve strained to detect one) it might be a touch of walnut.
The more I drink tea, the more I realize that I’m just not suited for those concoctions that really are not tea at all. If I must avoid caffeine, then these sweet little beverages will not make me happy. I’d rather drink water.
This tea does succeed as what it is—not an almond tea but a nice apple drink. It’s refreshingly free of rooibos.
I hope that my lowish rating does not prevent those who really would like this kind of drink from making a purchase at David’s Tea. When David gets with the caffeine, he does an exceptional job.
Preparation
In case anyone (Stephanie) want’s to try the TG Roasted Almond, I just posted it in the Take it Away discussion thread.
Just like to say that I’m going to avoid licorice. I bought this because I needed a tea I could drink before I went to bed. I had a cough at the time and I wanted something to sooth it.
The chamomile was soothing and the hint of peppermint was delicious. My only problem was the licorice. It had that lingering sensation and a smell/flavour I’m not a huge fan of.
I got used to it after a while. Usually I get lazy and leave my herbal teas steeping for a long time but because of the licorice, I can’t steep it for too long. It’s still a comforting tea before bed.
Preparation
Intensely fruity!
I was shocked when my tea came out a purple/pink/fuchsia colour. Don’t know why I got this tea since I usually don’t drink fruity teas (guess I was curious). I strongly recommend adding honey or some kind of sweetener to it. It tastes pretty good with some honey.
It would make a lovely summer iced tea :)
Preparation
I’m not the one for fruity teas but I really enjoyed this one.
It smells very strongly of fruit and there’s definitely a high citrus note in there. The fruit smell is quite pungent to a point where it overpowers the bergamot of the earl grey.
When I steeped it, it retained a lot of it’s fruity qualities but it’s not nearly as intense as Bear Trap. It’s more than just a hint of fruitiness. I adore earl grey but this tea isn’t as strong as the ones I usually drink. Regardless, I was still surprised how much I liked this tea.
I usually drink this with some honey.
Preparation
It smells divine: a strong caramel scent with some nuttiness. However, I expected a stronger flavour but instead it was a mild and smooth tea with a slight caramel.
I also tried it with some agave nectar & milk. I felt that it wasn’t a strong enough tea to hold it’s own against the milk.
Although my favourite teas are generally at completely different sides of the spectrum: bold black teas and mild green teas are what I prefer. Creme Caramel Rooibos was somewhere in the middle that I’m not entirely used to but could maybe grow to love.
Preparation
Taste and smell great when it’s hot.. chocolate-minty. But because they put chocolate in it so when you brew the tea, there will be a layer or circles of oil floating on top, which may make it not as appealing? So need to drink it fast!
Preparation
I got this as a free sample in my last order from David’s Tea. The Barberry, by the way, resembles small cranberries, but the taste it not as strong.
This sencha is perfectly pleasant and a good choice for a basic fruity green tea with few, if any, vegetal overtones. I also think this would make a delicious iced tea.
I’m not in love with it, but when I survey my iced tea options as the weather gets muggier, I might order a large size of Barberry Fling.
Preparation
This very pretty tea didn’t make stars fall, but it’s a very nice light and sweet cinnamon. Lately I’ve been reacting against cinnamons that are simply too heavy. This tea has the right touch—-I can taste the cinnamon but it’s not going to overwhelm the tea. Naturally sweet, it’s a fiarly basic black.
I might not choose it for everyday use, but I would be very happy to serve this to a visitor. It’s got the high “bling” factor plus a perfectly nice taste.
Preparation
LOL, I just went back and read the description on this one. So you mean you didn’t get a late night seduction Doulton?? hahaha
David’s Tea has a most delightful habit of including several free samples with each order I place. I had an order come in today along with three free samples and one of them was Senchamental. I don’t mind a bad pun. I don’t even mind a ridiculously bad pun. I don’t mind a reference to Star Wars either. It takes me back to the days when my children insisted that we constantly play Star Wars. They were Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, respectively. Their father was Darth Vader (alternating with Obi Wan Kenobi). And I got the best role of all—I stepped in as the Princess Leia, as Jabba the Hutt, as Greedo, as Boba Fett, and as a jawa. My own private young Skywalker is a balding middle-aged man and he hasn’t come at me with his light sabre in decades.
So this tea begins as a sentimental journey for me. The dry aroma is pronouncedly orange. And a delightful orange with a true flavor. Nothing synthetic here. Orange is the predominant taste as well. And it’s vigorous and strong. The mint makes its way though but it’s clearly a supporting member of the orchestra while the orange is the soloist in this concerto.
I like this blend because it’s an original to me—I’ve never had such an intriguing marriage of mint and green before as back-up players to orange. The aftertaste has more mint, but remains quite orange-y. The orange – mint blend is strong to the point that I don’t taste the vegetal elements of the green tea coming through. I’m enjoying this hot, but it might make the absolutely perfect iced tea for the summer (I’m doing iced tea auditions right now and this one has made the cut). Now I’ll have to put in a full-order with David’s Teas. Was I compliementing them on the free samples? Now I say it’s like the old dope peddler giving a free sample to a gullible child.
Super-nice tea.

hmm, where is my metal bikini…yup done the leia thing at conventions – have hair long enough to bun too – too bad i may chop it all off
You know what? This isn’t half as good as the Tea Gschwendner version. Same exact concept, better executed by the latter as usual. Of course, in TG you have to buy 100grams without trying it first, unless you’re in Chicago (I miss their shop. Sniffle.) Anyway, a nice sweet tea- perfect for dessert (or, if you’re me, afternoon lulls). It really doesn’t need any sweetener. I think I’d have rated this more highly if I didn’t know that it could be even MORE intense and delicious. My husband even cut TG’s with plain Darjeeling tea and it still tasted strongly. That said, I mixed what was left of the two bags together because, hey, close enough. ;)
Preparation
Milk Oolong remains in my top five favourite teas, and I love the one from David’s Tea. From the mythical story about the tea, to the taste itself, this tea is hard to beat. It’s also great for re-steeping, making the initial expense worth every penny.
The greatest part of this tea is that nothing is even added to the tea itself – so the unusual, amazing flavour of the oolong is completely natural. The flavour comes from very specific conditions in weather caused by a rare, sudden change of temperature during harvest.
The smell of the tea itself comes across as a strong milky odor. The taste keeps this milk flavour with some hints of light orchid, a usual characteristic of oolong. To me, this tea tastes like milk and cookies – a delicious combination reminiscent of a shortbread cookie.
Try it – you won’t be disappointed!
HOCKEY is an awesome sport! Too bad my team isn’t still in it. :(
What’s your team? :P
Well we lost 6-0 yestersay against the flyers. so boo :(
My cup of tea this morning was a recovery from the harsh game last night lol

I created a Signature Blend at Adagio called the GOOSE IS LOOSE for Paul Gaustad! (We call him GOOSE)
Awesome. I was in toronto two years ago and met the entire team outside the air canada center. Including Lindsay Ruff.
