41 Tasting Notes
This is my first Harney & sons tea!! Exciting! I saw they were selling it at my local bookstore and since the ratings were so good and they were almost out of stock I could not resist getting a tin of this yesterday… I’ve been meaning to order from their site for quite a while but shipping to Canada is too expensive :(
So this was great as my NYE tea while I was waiting for midnight. I’m not a fan of berry teas usually but this one is not too artificial and may very well change my mind. It reminds me of St Petersburg by Kusmi teas which reminds me that I should add some Kusmi to my cupboard… They are perfect for winter, maybe some Prince Vladimir or that new Tsarevna one which has such a beautiful tin… Anyway, happy new year fellow steepsterites!! :D
That’s the tea I got for my cousin for Christmas along with a colour changing mug and chocolate honey sticks! And of course I could not resist getting a small pouch for myself… I’ve just remembered the sales guy told me this is best as a latte. But for now I’m drinking it straight with a small spoonful of sugar. Next time I won’t add sugar because it’s already sweetened with the rock sugar pieces. I like it but I’m not sure if I’ll buy some more. It’s almost too syrupy and kind of remind me of a cough sirup I used to take when I was a kid. I definitely need to try it as a latte though…
Edit: made this today as a latte to drink with my homemade chewy coconut cookies! :P And it’s definitely a lot better with milk. In fact I think this is going to be one of my 3 free 50g bags of tea… Did I really spend 300$ for tea? (ouch)…
Flavors: Butter, Coconut
Mmmm.. my god, this tea is delicious! I tried this first during a movie night with my boyfriend. The movie was good so I was not really paying attention, and now trying this again with some eggnog and wow! I never thought I would say this of a green tea but this is delicious! Not the slightest fishy/spinachy green tea taste! Just caramel, maple, and popcorn!!
Flavors: Caramel, Maple, Popcorn
Preparation
I’m usually not a big fan of mint teas, but I smelled this one in the store and I found it interesting. The taste is interesting too, it makes me think of a hot mojito, quite refreshing when I want to end my meal on a sweet note but I’m too stuffed for something more decadent. Don’t need to add anything to it because it’s already sweetened.
Flavors: Mint
Ha! That’s it! I always tend to oversteep my teas. This time I’ve tried this again for no more than 4 minutes and that’s the key! The pu’erh earthy taste is very subtle now, I mostly get coffee and a hint of vanilla, much much better!
Flavors: Coffee, Vanilla
