41 Tasting Notes
My cousin and I are big tea addicts. I introduced her to Kusmi and Teavana and she got me a David’s Tea gift card last Christmas.
She is moving into a new apartment in two days and so she had to do some sorting : I inherited this Constant Comment, some green tea, and a waffle maker! It’s very good with some agave nectar and soy milk. I think I’ll also try the regular caffeinated version.
Amazing. I’m used to black teas from India or Nepal so this one was a surprise. It’s tasty and complex. The sweet flavour is really complemented with some rock sugar (and even milk, why not?). I think I’ll need to buy more of it because the pouch I got is so tiny… I was not overwhelmed by the Jabberwocky but this one is a win!
Flavors: Caramel, Malt
This was one glorious week of tea: received my Republic of Tea order on Monday and my Whispering Pine Teas order today, right on time for breakfast. I was a little puzzled by the fact that most of their teas are constantly out of stock but I guess it’s a good sign? And they sell small quantities which is perfect for me considering I always have a hard time finishing all the teas I order…
I’m not really used to Chinese black teas so this is going to be interesting. The Jabberwocky has a very comforting smell. Muscatel and warm bread. I can see myself drinking this for breakfast with French baguette and jams :)

Wow! This is the one I chose as a free bag with my Frequent Steeper points. I was hesitant because I don’t usually like green tea but this one is quite different. The jasmine scent is intense but not in an artificial way that makes me dizzy, and the green tea doesn’t taste bitter or fishy. It’s naturally sweet so no need for sugar. Re-steep well. I wish I could buy this again but it’s expensive… I will have to try the Dragon pearls and see if it’s much different.
Trying as many brands of British tea as I can right now. Next on the list is Barry’s Tea. Typhoo is ok, but I still prefer Yorkshire (best of the best) and PG Tips (second best). As a former coffee drinker I need to brew this extra strong, with 3 bags in the pot at least.
So… this is one of the tea I got as one of my three frequent steeper free 50g bags of tea. The other one is Earl Grey cream and I haven’t decided on the third one yet (suggestions are welcome :) I also have a 20$ gift card that my cousin gave me for Christmas which makes me really excited, haha!
I was surprised this tea was still being sold and since I’m a sucker for anything pumpkin I jumped on the occasion! I’m completely in love with Pumpkin Chai but I only have 3 or 4 cups left from my 100g tin so I figured this would make a nice replacement…
It’s slightly spicier than Pumpkin Chai I think, but it really tastes like pumpkin. I still think I prefer Pumpkin Chai but this definitely makes a delicious warming pumpkin drink!
