150 Tasting Notes
Sipdown
I had like 6 tea bags of this, which were all devoured during my cold with some honey in it. Very soothing for the throat. There are going to be a few sipdowns with some of my more herbal blends.
I like this tea but am looking for some loose varieties that do the same thing. Not sure if I will purchase this one again.
Preparation
Another tea I have been gravitating to whilst being sick.
Forgot to say before: Happy New Year everyone. We rang in the new year cuddling with our colds… so romantic I know.
I like the flavour of this green tea and it’s a good option if you’re looking for a flavoured green tea, but not something over the top.
Preparation
Ah yes, the cold/holiday hiatus. That has been me for the last two weeks.
I’m on Day 6 of this lingering nasty cold. I have my very sweet and cute nieces and nephews to thank for that. My lovely mother bought this for me as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. She tried it at a friends house and knew that my favourite green tea was Moroccan Mint/North African mint teas. I had tried this one previous (received it as a sample) but hadn’t purchased it yet. It has been a god send for my cold.
At first sniff: This is a very spicy smelling blend. I pick out all the spices and they work very well together. DELICIOUS!
At first steep: This tea tastes amazing. I also like Moroccan Mint by Stash, which is less spicy, more spearmint and minty. But this is a nice version of it. It’s zippy and very clearing to the sinuses. It also helps the tummy. The mint and the green tea take a back seat in this blend, throughout all the steeps, but I kind of like that I am not getting an in your face green tea flavour.
At second steep: The spices come out more, and the mint takes a back seat. This steeps extremely well in the second steeping.
At third steep: Getting fainter, but still delicious and those that don’t appreciate the strong spices, would like this subdued version of it.
At fourth steep: It’s very watery, but I’ll take it, seeing as I am sick and all. It’s nice that you can do this many steeps with it. It could definitely be considered a value tea at this rate! Love love love!

Day 22 or the 24 Days of Tea
I am on major catch up. The holidays have just blown by. I made this and had this a few days ago and even still I forgot about it!!! I had this on Christmas day while my sweetheart and I opened the gifts we weren’t suppose to get each other.
I will have to take the time to rate it again when I remember what I liked about it etc… until then, this is just another tasting note tracking what I’ve had.
Day 22 of the 24 Days of Tea
At first sniff: As I am sure every OTHER PERSON has said below: Terry’s Chocolate Orange in a tea. I don’t read reviews before I try it for myself, unless I’m doing a blind buy online. That’s pretty much all I smell is chocolate and orange. I smell a tinge of artificial at the end of the sniff, but so far this looks promising. I’m not going to lie, growing up TCO wasn’t my favourite. I always asked for one because I wanted to smash one, but then never really enjoyed the chocolate as much. I think I am the only person I know who is not a fan of fruit and tea, except maybe chocolate covered strawberries, and they have to be dunked in dark chocolate to put off the sweet from the fruit so that the fruit doesn’t taste so sour.
At first steep: Alright, this is probably the first time in a long time that I was anxious about brewing a tea. I’ve never had a pu’erh before. I have read about how some of it tastes: fishy, off-putting. I brewed this for 4:30 at 100. Davids says anywhere from 4-6 minutes. When I poured it into my cup it looks dark and strong. I figured cream and sugar would be a must if there was a hope in heck of me liking this tea. It then became a very red brown colour. When I smelled it, my nose was overwhelmed with chocolate. The orange zinged as the last note. I like this tea, but I am still in the realm of “No nothing about Pu-erh.” Any comments or tips about pu-erh tea would be helpful. I get a taste of pool chlorine at the VERY end of this. I think I’ll have save any more judgements for a second steep. I will note my blend didn’t have chocolate shavings in it, it had chocolate chips. I guess DT changed that to keep the blend together better? Not sure.

Day 21 of the 24 Days of Tea
At first sniff: This smells very lovely. But that’s without a doubt because vanilla is part of the orchid family. I only smell the teensiest hint of artificial at the very end but it is not offensive at all.
At first steep: I was scared of over-steeping this one and also over-leafing, so I played it pretty safe. I steeped the first round at 2:30 and then the second steep at 4:00. The first steep was a tad weak, but I’d rather than than bitter and I think I preferred the second steep because it was a bit stronger. This was my first REAL experience with oolong. When I opened the basket, I saw all the leaves had unwrapped and that was very neat to me. It reminds me of a more delicate green tea. I still don’t understand all the hype about oolong yet, but I am starting to get it a little bit.
I would probably try other oolongs first before I restocked any.
Preparation
Couldn’t resist having this again this morning. I’ve been in a rose tea mood today. I was suppose to go to the dentist this morning, but it snowed. Now, normally cities that it snows in can handle these things, but it rarely snows where I live, and it is better to stay inside away from any roads. So I cancelled, took my pooch for a long 2 hour walk and then came home to a nice warm house. I then helped my neighbour make table number displays for her upcoming wedding. I was feeling romantic because I was living vicariously through my neighbour and her soon to be nuptials. There are some DT teas on sale right now with Rose in them, I am tempted… very tempted!!!
