OH MY! My Black Friday order finally arrived. YAY! I tore into the box like a crazy person & smelt all my delicious new teas!

This smells very good, marshmallow, caramely goodness. It changes scent a little once steeping, kind of a funny smell :/

This is so amazingly spectacular. I don’t know if I like it more than Oatmeal Raisin Cookie or Chili Chocolate Truffle, but it is soooooooooooooo good.

It’s very marshmallow like, way better than any of the marshmallow or s’mores teas I’ve tried. And so caramel tasting. Wow just fantastic. Glad I ended up with 4oz of this. I even ended up over steeping it & it was still fabulous!

I made my first order with Della Terra on black friday and I was very excited that my order showed up at my apartment yesterday. I had a stressful night last night and I couldn’t sleep very well. We started rattie introductions and the first meeting was stressful. Hadley is definitely a little high strung compared to my other furkids. I know a little agression is normal, but I’m a total worrier and intros are just so stressful for me. So naturally I stayed up all night wondering what might happen. How things might turn out. If they would ever be friends.

Tonight we’re going to add a little rescue remedy to the mix to relax everyone a bit. And if that doesn’t work then I’ll schedule her for a spay next friday. I wanted to wait until after the holidays, but maybe a spay will straighten her hormones out. We’ll see…

Eight candles looks so fun. The little candies and gold pieces are so cute! This tea is yummy. Caramel marshmallows? Yes please! I am loving the sweetness. This is a good pick me up. I wish I could be more descriptive, but I’ve barely slept and I couldn’t stay in bed past 3 am. I’m running on empty here. I’ll have to review this again when I’m more clear headed.

On a positive note I got the Christmas cage set up! Of course I have to show off some pictures of my Christmas decorating madness…

Happy Hanukkah!  I had to pull this one out today.  So good, so old.  So marshmallowy.  I would definitely buy this one again and I hope the recipe has never changed.

Crowkettle

Happy Hanukkah!

Oh my gosh, you still have this goodness? Would also buy again :)

Here it is CrowKettle: It’s ‘Dreidel’. I think it’s a wholesaler in which you have to order through e-mail, but at least the tea is findable!

Mastress Alita

SpecialTea Company wholesales lots of the East Indies blends, including “Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel”.

Crowkettle

Yes they do! They also have “Pineapple Upside Down Cake”. None of the “Chiffons” though unfortunately. “Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel” – on to the list it goes. :D

Happy Hanukkah!

gmathis

I’ve been reading extremely favorable reviews about this one for years! Happy Hanukkah from our house as well. This time of year, we all need a little light in the darkness!

Happy Hannukah! Good to know about Dreidel!

CrowKettle, East Indies does carry Lime Chiffon, or did a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks all. Sometimes the names change on East Indies/ SpecialTea so it’s more important to look at ingredients lists.

Mastress Alita

Yes, ingredient lists is what I depend on as well. Blends from the big wholesalers can (and often are) renamed from the smaller shops that buy the bulk wholesale blends.

Unless one wants to buy 2 lbs (?! I won’t even buy 100g bags anymore…) getting directly from the source (East Indies Coffee & Tea) isn’t a good option for most consumers. And some wholesalers only deal with those that have business licenses.

@Crowkettle: If you are still looking for a source of Lemon Souffle and Lime Chiffon, Anna Marie’s Teas is sourcing those East Indies blends.

Crowkettle

I see Anna Marie’s Teas (they carry Pineapple Upside Down Cake too!!) but not too sure if they ship internationally. Also, it’s the Lime I truly yearn for but it’s less commonly carried so I guess I’ll live with Lemon if I can get it, lol.

1 tablespoon for 248 ml

Marshmallow flavour very well captured. There is a hint of sweet coconut flavour. Flavours all flavours well balanced with black tea. Creaminess present.

Thanks Kittenna for sharing this with me!

This tea has received so many great reviews & I just had to try it. The idea of a marshmallow tea sounds delicious! Teas that have a ton of rave reviews sometimes make me a little bit nervous. I worry that they might not live up to all of the hype and in the end, I just get disappointed.

I love the mini marshmallows and the glittery sprinkles. The scent of the dry leaf is very much like store-bought vanilla frosting. After water has been added, it still retains that sweet scent, but now has the mild black tea base.

Sipping… Hmm.. this tea is very sweet and does taste like marshmallows! It’s a bit like Lucky Charms marshmallows, but that’s okay with me. The more I sip this tea, the more it tastes a little watered down. I used plenty of leaf for the cup, but maybe that’s just the nature of this blend. I can’t taste the black tea base at all, but I think a stronger base would overshadow the marshmallow. As I near the bottom of my cup, I realize that I don’t really like this & it gets more funky the more I drink. Something just doesn’t sit right with me and my tastebuds. It’s got a sugary metallic flavor that lingers in my mouth. Happy to have tried this blend, but it’s just not for me.

Lynxiebrat

You know, I’ve noticed a consistancy of that, least with the dessert teas, that the 1st sip would be great and the rest…kind of watered down and even boring. Finding it kind of annoying actually.

Holy moly, this smells good! So much marshmallow-y goodness! The tea itself doesn’t taste all that mallow-y but it’s still pretty good. Thinking I might overleaf next time to get a little more flavor.

Thanks MissB! I received this sample from her tea sale and I’m so glad I did. Samples are my new favorite thing. I love the variety, less boredom and I’m more likely to try something I normally would not. I think someday I may get a sample box from Dell Terra, not sure yet.

This smells like a chocolate cereal with marshmallows and taste like watery hot cocoa mix in a good way. It must be the marshmallow, I was beginning to think this is the first chocolate tea I have been able to drink without turning it into a latte to mask the smell and taste. I was wrong, there is no chocolate. That must be why I don’t have a problem drinking it. I’m glad I tried it and look forward to trying other teas with marshmallow flavoring and someday finding a chocolate tea I like.

Yvonne

Ooh, I’m looking forward to this one myself!

MissB

Glad you’re enjoying it! I love swaps and sales on here, I end up trying and loving things I would have just glossed by otherwise.

I don’t order very much from Della Terra. I’ve largely scratched them off as a generic-artificial-flavor dessert tea shop. I know I am in the minority, as always. My parents both have some favorite teas from DT and sometimes I order on their behalf.

Eight Candles was a tea that I really wanted to try from them when I first got into loose tea in late January. I had just missed the holidays and this tea was sold out. SInce then, I’ve largely discovered that dessert teas aren’t my thing (with the exception of Butiki) Caramel and chocolate in particular never come out good in a tea. But, remembering the excitement I had when I discovered that tea comes in more flavors and forms than “bagged green” (I felt like a hobbit learning that beer comes in Pints! lol) I decided to get this tea in honor of those memories.

It smells so unbelievably good. The best smelling of any DT tea. It’s like fluffy marshmallows and cake frosting. I was hoping so much it would taste the same, hoping so intently I thought that I could will it to happen. But, alas, my powers are not that strong (yet >;) ). The best I can say for the flavor is that it doesn’t offend me and there is absolutely no weird caramel aftertaste (a first!). But it’s still blah. But, that smell, like heaven. I might brew it again sometime anyway just for it. And put extra marshmallows in it like in a hot cocoa. :) I will make this tea work for me, I will.

Drank the last little bit I had of this tea. It will be missed. So delicious and creamy. I never realized it had sparkles in it until I looked directly into my cup and just stared. Beautiful! Mmmmm I miss it already.

This tea was many firsts for me. It was my first swap, my first experience with della terra teas, and my first tea with sprinkles. It. Is. Awesome. Shout out to Jackie T. for the sample!

This tea is absolutely delicious! It really does taste warm and caramel-y and marshmallow-y ! I was a bit apprehensive before trying this tea because I am not a huge fan of marshmallows, but it did not disappoint! I haven’t even finished the sample yet and already ordered this and some other della terra teas.

This is definitely a tea I would recommend to someone! I also plan on giving it to all of my friends who claim that they do not like tea in my efforts to convert everyone I know into avid tea drinkers!

I loved this tea and cannot wait to try some more of della terra’s teas!
