Mulled Wine

Too watery, too light, not enough wine taste.

I can hardly taste the oolong in this. The sugary ingredients leave a noticeable poor aftertaste.

I really love this tea. It tastes like spiced bubblegum and sweet like candy. Not much to say other than that, I don’t taste any wine flavor. The name is kind of misleading.

I still had a few teas left to try from my 12 Teas of Christmas, and this was one of them. This tea does smell like bubblegum while dry, after steeping I got a gorgeous sweet and spicy christmas-y scent, definitely cloves being the top note, followed by orange peel. Not too exciting, but good for when I am in the mood. Will Finnish my sample, not sure yet if I’ll repurchase in the future. Overall a pleasant tea.

I don’t know where people are getting bubblegum flavours from in this tea as what I taste most are the mulling spices accompanied with orange peel. It’s very reminiscent of the spice mix I use to make spiced cider. What’s missing here, unfortunately, is the wine. The oolong base just isn’t a good mock-up for the booze and so the tea ends up taste like Generic Holiday Spice™. It does, however, hold it’s flavour through several resteeps, which is a point in its favour as I’ve found that most flavoured oolongs lose the flavour after the first steep.

Definitely a very sweet tea indeed. As others have said, this tea has a very bubblegum like smell and taste (Juicy Fruit brand comes to mind in particular). I could see myself drinking this iced in the summer time, or on a hot gloomy day in the fall/winter. This tea is definitely a nice pick-me-up if you’re feeling a little sluggish.

This is a weird one. Before steeping, the smell makes me think of delicious bubblegum. After steeping, the smell sort of reminds me of my mum’s pork chops! I know — what a weird thing to think of when drinking tea! They must use the same spices.

I did like this tea, and the warmth of the spices was nice. But I don’t think it tastes like mulled wine at all.

Bubblegum! I was surprised this smells and does taste like Juicy Fruit bubblegum. I do get a sweet citrus orange-y taste with a little spicy hint at the end. Overall pretty good

I received a sample of this from a very lovely gal. It’s not normally something that would sound appealing to me. I tend to stay away from teas that sound overly spiced. This is not bad, though. The dry leaf definitely smells like bubblegum, but the steeped tea tastes like what I’d imagine an orange studded with cloves would taste like. I was hoping for a bit less spice, but it’s not terrible. The clove compliments the orange quite nicely. The cinnamon was present but more in heat than in taste, if that makes sense. The blend is very warming. If I still ate steel cut oats, this would make an incredible base for them. It’s bubblegum alright, but the Big Red variety. I don’t hate it, but it’s not something I plan to stock up on. It’s a pleasant tea to enjoy unsweetened while I finish out my Whole30 (which has turned into a Whole100) journey.
