From DAVIDsTEA

How it tastes
This is our peachiest tea ever – it tastes just like a ripe juicy peach!

It took us years to find the perfect peach iced tea – but this sweet, summery infusion is so peachy, it tastes like it’s fresh from the orchard. It’s amazing blended with frozen strawberries and white rum. Or served chilled with a splash of Prosecco. But our favorite way to drink it is straight up with a touch of agave. Hot or iced, this blend is a real peach.

What makes it great
• One of the best iced teas of all time!
• Makes an amazing base for your favorite fruity cocktails.

Ingredients:
Apple, Apple pomace (apple pomace, citric acid), Artificial peach flavouring, Sweet blackberry leaves, Peach (peach, sugar), Natural sweet blackberry leaf flavouring, Artificial apricot flavouring.

We’re getting snow here in North Dakota so I thought I would brew up something summery. This one is certainly not bad. I’ve had it for a few years though and I think maybe some flavor has faded. I was hoping for that juicy, sweet explosion of flavor I get when I bite into a peach. I was disappointed because I didn’t get that.

However, the flavor though mild was pleasant. Just a tad artificially sweet, but not bad.

I guess late October is about normal for you? The cold air is supposed to be moving our way—just in time for Sunday’s planned Trunk or Treat on the church parking lot. Brrr! Hoping an indoor Plan B is in the works.

I received a taste of this in a sampler pack I bought last summer, and liked it enough to order a package. I may get tired of it by the time I’ve used it up, but I like it well enough.

This was somehow simultaneously very sweet and also bitter.

Not sure where the bitterness was coming from to be honest, maybe the blackberry leaves? Otherwise, it tastes like Peachy-O’s with a side of apple. Not terrible, but definitely too sweet for me.

Day 17 of the DavidsTea herbal advent calendar. I have a little tin of this too from an older sampler, but hadn’t gotten around to trying it yet so this was still a treat. The aroma as this brews is just wonderfully peachy. The tea itself tastes like peach juice – I gulped down the first mug so fast it didn’t have time to get cold and I immediately made a second mug. Interestingly, tea-averse partner walked into the kitchen while this was steeping up and swore the aroma was peach-but-something-is-off. So make of that what you will. I think it’s quite on point.

This, straight up, tastes like peach juice. It reminds me of something that I would’ve absolutely loved when I was a kid. I think that’s why I love it so much. It seems familiar and I somehow find that very comforting. This is getting a high rating based on that and the fact that I have two friends who always come over and when they do, both of them ask for this tea over any of my other ones. It’s un-fussy with a straightforward sweet peach flavour. This tea is forever linked with special memories of fun times being spent watching movies, chatting and having many laughs. It’s one of the varieties that you can also buy in the grocery store which makes it a convenient purchase and I will always have a box of it in my pantry. I’m comfortable in calling this one a favourite.

I bought this over the summer mostly for my husband who loves Snapple peach iced tea. It has a very strong sweet fake peachy smell. I brewed it hot last night. It was enjoyable. I think I didn’t use enough tea for my mug, though, as it was a bit watered down tasting compared to the strong scent

Decided to try a cold steep of this one using the same amount of tea (0.75 tsp) for a more direct comparison to the hot version I made yesterday. Steeped it for one hour in 12 oz cold water in the fridge.

The colour is about 3/4 as dark I’d say of yesterday’s drink and while the scent of fuzzy peaches candy is still there, the flavour is still more of an peach/apple mix.

I do think that cold brew is my preferred taste of the two, however, because it does preserve more of the peach flavour than the hot brew had after it cooled down and the cold brew drink tastes less acidic and more sweet.

Several reviews of this tea I’ve read talk about steeping this cold overnight, which does sound like a great idea for future attempts. An hour was all I was prepared to wait today, however.

Upping the rating to reflect this slightly better flavour profile I’ve found: 65 to 67.

Updated cup count (12 oz) from the 27g pitcher pack: 2 (Lots more to play with in the future!)

Too sweet for my taste. Left a strong artificial sugar taste in my mouth. It is very peachy though so it could be good for some people.
