Chocolate Cake

On my third nightshift, a cold and bitter one I might add, I began it by brewing this up while I traversed the landscape, trying to get through the snow that had no built up. And unlike Red Velvet Cake, I found this tea to be the best!

This tea tastes like a chocolate cake and with a bit of honey it becomes a sweet indulgence. It went down smooth, smelled like a heavenly bag of baking love and, most of all, kept me awake a fair amount of time. I got no jitters or backlash from it and was happy to finish my cup! Now I know I’ll definitely rebuy this and add a tin of it to my cabinet.

the first time I had this tea, I tried it really hot and unsweetened and was kind of meh. However, I got a chocolate craving tonight and brewed it a bit strong and sweetened with honey. It was like a cup of chocolate pudding. Oh no, another one I’m going to have to restock and it’s an online exclusive! That means I have to pay full price! harumph

So this tea was given to me as a gift with the knowledge of my enjoyment of dessert teas. And it certainly ranks up there with some of my tasty tea’s; however it takes a hit as I prefer this tea as a latte more then a straight tea as it ends up really tasting like cake.

Dry this tea has a wonderful chocolate and carob aroma to it, and it certainly looks like the beginnings of cake batter with all the sprinkles and chocolate pieces.

Steeped the tea takes on a more pronounced carob aroma but is still quite pleasing. It becomes a very dirty and murky tea, I suspect this is the sprinkles as Red Velvet Cake does the exact same thing. Takes pretty good by itself, but it really comes to life with some milk or done as a latte.

I adore this with cream. I think it tastes most chocolatey after it has cooled off, so I think I’ll try steeping it at 200F instead of boiling next time. Ordered a large quantity today because it’s all gone sob. Bumping up the rating bc I’ve fallen even more in love.

Chocolate cake tea is so chocolatey, creamy and delicious. It’s like a liquid slice of the tastiest chocolate cake you’ve ever put into your mouth. I’m nearly out of my 100g tin so I better go buy some more!!

So just got my DavidsTea parcel today and my first try will be this interesting tea.

It smells exactly like chocolate ice cream.

It brews thick and foggy a light caramel color with sediment on the top and bottom.

it’s like an unsweetened watery hot chocolate or chocolate ice cream melted which is actually quite pleasant and not so hard on the teeth or caloric intake.

It’s not as overwhelming as I thought it would be for a gimmicky tea.

Holy crap. This smells exactly like chocolate cake. This tastes exactly like chocolate cake. I don’t even know what else to say. Amazing.

mmm, this tea is divine. i definitely get that ‘cakey’ taste through the chocolate and alongside the tea. what a brilliant dessert tea it would be! though i just had it for a late night treat ;)
yes, definitely chocolate. yes, definitely tasty!

It looks very muddy which makes it look rather weird but it has a nice light taste with certain creaminess to it. I can easily compare it to both cake and ice cream, but there is definitely a milk chocolatiness present. I was recommended to try it with milk, I’m yet to do that but I can definitely see how it would only increase the creaminess of the tea. As a person who usually is very picky about flavored tea I can see myself drinking this one once in a while. Would I stock up on it? No.
