105 Tasting Notes
The irish breakfast in this comes out STRONG, with a nice kick of chocolate flavor. The guanabana flavor might as well not be there because I am not picking it up at all. I guess it might help if I knew what guanabana tastes like, but this is the first time I’ve even heard of it. I’m a l m o s t tasting a citrus flavor?
Now, as for this reflecting our beloved 10th Doctor, I’m not sure. The color reminds me of his suit/coat, and I know that chocolate should definitely be in there…There is something very comforting about it as well. But I almost want something a little more quirky to give this tea some sass. I guess guanabana is quirky because who even knows what that is? But taste wise, it’s not making me go “WOOOOAH THAT’S 10!” It’s more like “yeeah ok that’s passing for 10”. But yeah, it does taste good.
The coconut in this is pretty intense, like a toasted coconut taste. But the oolong itself has a spinach-like taste that even kind of comes through as a buttery flavor at some points. I wasn’t terribly crazy about that paired with the coconut. My fiance had it iced and loved it… So I’ll have to try it iced.
I got this as a sample, and was kind of excited to try it because I really love honeydew. Once it was steeping I was slapped in the face with a kind of gross fruit smell. Just really intense and kind of artificial smelling. When I finally tasted it, the flavor just seemed really artificial, and it made me feel a little bit sick.. Maybe it’s the hibiscus blossoms? Idk I’ll give it one more try when my allergies are better.
Thanks to my allergies I feel completely out of it and disconnected from life today, like I am on my own little planet. Thanks singulair, nasonex, zyrtec, and sudafed for being worthless.
Anyway, lucky for me my latest David’s Tea order arrived today, and naturally this was the first tea I reached for. I was so excited about it. It’s interesting. The mango flavor is very true to a real mango, and it is super juicy. Like I have never had such a juicy tea before, the flavor makes my mouth water. Sadly, I’m not detecting enough pomegranate flavor, which is a letdown because pomegranate is my absolute favorite fruit.. But yeah, I think the mango mostly overpowers it.
I really enjoy black and rooibos mixed together. This is no exception. The blueberry flavor comes through nicely, accompanied by creamy vanilla. Very sweet on its own.
Also I watched all of the Oscars last night and I am so so exhausted today. Big mistake.. It was so boring, plus Seth MacFarlane was not great. I’m normally okay with ‘insult based’ humor (like Ricky Gervais), but I was not laughing last night.
Let me just say, I love that Della Terra Teas has a ‘build your own try me pack’. Pretty awesome.
This is so delicious. The fact that it has pineapple and coconut kind of worried me at first, but I can’t taste them. I taste a nutty sweetness, without any hint of ‘tropical’ flavoring. The green tea base keeps it light and smooth.
With this tea, I mostly taste cinnamon and after that, vanilla. I only kind of taste carrot cake. It’s very good but it is missing something. It definitely makes me think of carrot cake, but I think if I was drinking this without knowing the flavor, I might not pick up on that.
