95 Tasting Notes
I usually don’t like Japanese greens—too seaweedy for me unless it’s a flavored Sencha. This is lovely. Dry leaf has a sweet grass smell, wet leaf gets wonderfully nutty. It tastes sort of like a roasty Longjing but with a subtle seaweed taste. Not fishy by any means.
Preparation
I love this tea! It has a great chocolate smell and taste to me. Always have my black teas with a dash of soy creamer (going to try almond creamer soon), and it makes this tea even more scrumptious. Have already re-bought but forgot to save my tin! Aggh.
Two heaping teaspoons per 16oz Contigo travel tumbler.
Preparation
Backlogging—This has a really strong cherry smell as dry leaf, but the taste isn’t overpowering. A bit sweet, not as chocolatey as the other chocolate flavored blacks so I didn’t re-buy, but was pleasant. Not out of the question for a future reorder.
Preparation
Got this as a sample &…whoa. It’ll be on my next order for sure. The butterscotch is strong but blends so well with everything else. I put too much creamer in, but I don’t care. This is sinful.
Preparation
Got this on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit leery since I don’t like overly floral teas, but for me this was floral scent-wise but not overpowering in taste.
I get a bit of flowers, the almond, and the coconut in a sip. Not really tasting the pineapple; I get more of a lemony taste.
My absolute favorite white teas is still Cantaloupe & Cream, but this is a nice change of pace.
Preparation
Sipdown. Not super chocolatey, but a nice black tea. Added a few pieces of rock sugar, about a teaspoon of soy vanilla creamer, and I’m good to go. Not sure I’ll restock this since I’m so wishy washy on flavored blacks these days, but definitely recommended.
Preparation
Backlogging from last night. Wow, this is sweet! Has a very strong sugary/mapley smell. The taste is pretty close to the description: vanilla icing and sugar. Substituted this instead of some sorbet for dessert last night and it definitely quelled the sweet craving.
2 teaspoons and a little vanilla half and half.
Preparation
Cold brewed overnight. It’s full of fruit bits so there’s not a lot of the mix in the bag given the weight. The mango and pineapple are most noticeable, and there’s a very fruit punchy flavor all around. I think I prefer Tropicalia, but this was still a nice and refreshing cold brew.
Backlog from yesterday: the smell is spot on for this and the taste is pretty close too. Has a wonderful caramel scent mixed with a slightly buttery popcorn taste. I don’t think I’d try this one cold and I prefer hot matcha lattes anyway.
Royal grade matcha, distinctive flavoring. 2 chasaku scoops to 8oz light vanilla soy milk.
