Second taster note on this; changed-up my approach.
Except for days when I require something stronger and maltier, I turn to matcha as my morning pick-up. That every-other-day-task has fallen on Joy’s Izu Matcha. It does what its supposed to and still tastes good. I’m apt to add that it actually fizzes up nicely when paired with 170F water as opposed to the usual 165F. When I’m in a hurry, that’s what I default to. That adds a bit of texture to an otherwise zesty cup.

Preparation
White it isn’t the vibrant, radioactive green bubble-frenzy that is top quality ceremonial matcha…this is a very tasty sibling. The texture is smooth, the flavor is sweetly vegetal in a seaweed-like sense, and there is no bitter finish. For a man of little means – like me – this is a good mid-grade money’s worth o’ matcha.
Preparation
I was having a hard time adding this one to Steepster – it was saying it was already there but no matter what I did to search for it by name or by company it wasn’t popping up so that is why I added (black) to the name…sorry if this is a problem.
I guess I can make the connection with the name of this because it DOES remind me of a Summer field or meadow! :)
the taste is of black tea, basil, and a hint of lemony goodness…but only a hint. This is nice if you get the chance to try it!
Upping my rating.
Why is Joy so awesome. Out of all the tea I’ve tasted in the past half a year since I started the addiction, I know I’m sticking with this company.
(They make the best spiced teas!!! yummm)
Also in my order with this tea was a huge chunk of spicy chai, sun kissed jasmine, and a bit of spicy pear. And now they carry ayuverdic blends! aahhhh!!!
