I’m so thrilled to FINALLY have some tea from Joy’s Teaspoon! A week ago, a mangled package arrived on my doorstep. It had been opened and I ended up having to pitch the tea as even some containers had been opened. (You never know!) So, the tease came through smelling these wonderful samples going to waste. I’ve been pining for the Sunny Passion as it has the most amazing tropical scent. I literally found myself thinking about it during down times… driving home from work, in bed at night…

So, today I finally have it and am really drinking it! (175/3 min) It’s delicious! The smell, even once brewed is still there. Like papaya and mango. Tropical. The taste is not overly fruity, but is a good balance of a fresh tasting green tea with fruit. It’s pleasant and refreshing and almost juice-like. I feel lighter, just as this tea tastes.

Your package was opened?? Beyond that, your TEAS were opened??? That’s crazy! I don’t take tea tampering lightly, I think I’d be in a fury. : )

I have been thinking about this too, was it UPS, or Post Office?
Either should have better control than that…

QuiltGuppy

It was the post office. I was really upset, but when I went to file a complaint, they apologized, but didn’t seem shocked at all. I get the impression that this stuff goes on more than we know about. Yes, one of the tins was opened and emptied, so I had to dispose of them all. When I emailed Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon, she immediately sent me out a new package. (Thanks, Naomi!). The second package arrived unharmed.

Uniquity

I can imagine that this sort of thing does go on – Presumably that’s why they’re so pushy about insurance “in case something happens.” So if they decide to destroy any package that catches their eye we can afford to have it replaced…

Here’s hoping that the post people leave our stinking tea alone!

teawing

I am still lost though, they (the Postal workers) did this…they thought it was drugs or bombs or something???

QuiltGuppy

No, it wasn’t officially opened. I’ve had things opened for Customs before, but not like this. The exterior box was shredded apart and the tea containing box was slit open. It was deliberate. And it wasn’t covered by insurance, so it was just a complaint.

That restores my faith a little…but for goodness sakes…we had a rash of stolen packages delivered by UPS on porches around Christmas…it is a cruel world.

Another great one that I got from Indigobloom. After my first sip I said out loud “oh wow I like this one.” Halfway through the cup now and I still feel the same way. The fruit notes blend to the point that I can’t distinguish but you know what? I don’t care. I’m being lazy on trying and proud of it because this is a delicious tea and I just want to enjoy it. And yes, Indigobloom, I’m going to try a second steep!

LOL this one totally took me by surprise, since it’s one we didn’t ‘see’ today :P
Glad you like it!!

Much love to QuiltGuppy for sending me this generous sample!!
Upon opening the package I was hit with a wave of sweet fruity goodness that took me back to my vacation in Mexico many moons ago. Heaven!
Brewed, I quite enjoyed it (for a green anyhow!) but had a feeling that Mum would looooove it. I made her sample a sip and yuppers! Funny, the fruity teas that I don’t fall in love with, she does… I guess I’m beginning to know her tastes.
Anyhow, she asked if she could take the rest of the sample to work!! My MOM asked if she could take some looseleaf tea to work! I was floored. Of course, given that I like this tea, and really do recognize the exceptional quality… I agreed. Anything to support a fellow tea addict right? esp one who’s fought it so vehemently ;)
Oh yah the tea… The pear and pineapple are definitely in there. Pear stands in the forefront while the pineapple lends a stronger, distinct sweetness that lingers in the aftertaste- esp in the second steep. Kinda like what you’d find in an oolong tea yet not as round.
I’ll be kinda sad to let this one go but its for a good cause! thanks again QG!

This is another free sample from joy’s teaspoon thank very much. This tastes like pineapple with some mango and I am not sure if I taste the passionfruit or not and the green tea is light and subtle which I like. I am fond of tropical fruit teas and the pineapple and the mango blend well in this and I really enjoy this tea. And one I am thinking about buying.

=D I accidentally sent these to my home address instead of school, so last night when I came home the first thing I did was to brew this!
It smells fantastic. Nummy! Tastes like pineapple and pears in a good way.
This is a really refreshing tea!

Finally breaking my sample out! Thank you Naomi. =)
Very nice and refreshing. The pinapple and pear in this work far better than I’d expect and the Chinese tea base is well balenced for smoothness. For a Floridian frog, this is just the tea I’d pick for refreshing iced tea but it’s so amazing hot. Ooh, I need to order this!

I have no idea why I have not logged this tea earlier. It is a main go to for me. It is a clean refreshing taste and a delicious sip! I like this tea best when it is hot, hot, hot. I do not think it gets bitter but the flavors are balanced the best when the tea is hot. To keep it this way I drink it out of a cermic mug with a lid to keep the steam in.

I wanted something bright and happy. It’s cold and rainy and I am dead tired. I stuck my nose in my sample of this and it fit the bill perfectly! I really appreciate these samples. It’s great to be able to try a couple cups to justify buying more tea.

This is a great, fruity white. I haven’t had a lot of luck with those, but this is nicely balanced and subtle while flavourful. The tropical flavours are perfect for today. And the scent is incredible!

This tea is great for a spring sip! Thank you QuiltGuppy for sending it to me in the Hoppitea Swap! The tea is fruity and balanced and you can taste both the white and green tea. Yum.
