From Joy's Teaspoon

One might say, that had Jesus turned water into tea, it might have tasted like Almond Cookie. It is a taste experience unlike any other! Pairing sweet apple and beetroot pieces, this tea once brewed has a red color nuance. The flavor note is determined by tempting, sweet, roasted, caramelized almonds. Our tip: simply try it and…enjoy! For a perfect taste impact, brew for a full 10 minutes. Naturally caffeine free.

FINALLY my precious Almond Cookie and I are together AT LAST!
I have waited a long time to get this in my stash and I am a happy camper now!
I could not believe it was only a few bucks more for twice the amount – I got the 4.5 ounce tin!
Now I am sure I can make it last a LITTLE bit longer! :)
One thing I notice is this tea has a long lingering flavor after the sip. It helps you to drink it a bit more slowly by just enjoying the after taste!
Cinnamon and almond are very present in the aroma.
The flavor has a slight twang to it initially but is not a twang that punches you in the face its a combination of the apple and beetroot!
Then the cinnamon and almond emerge and a sweet vanilla flavor that lingers in the after taste with just the right amount of sweet on the tongue.
Love it!
:)

CHAroma

Well, thank goodness it doesn’t punch you in the face! ;P

Azzrian

That made me LOL – still early – not caffeine yet – that gave me a funny mental visual.

Sophia

is this just like DAVIDs Forever Nuts?

Indigobloom

Sophia – Yes pretty much. You’ll find that blend is sold by a lot of vendors

Another generous sample from Azzrian… and another new tea company for me to try!

Now, initially when seeing this tea, I had a suspicion that it would be similar to DavidsTea’s Forever Nuts. I am not wrong in the slightest. I’m not sure the two would be distinguishable based on aroma, at least. It’s hard to say if the flavour is much different, since I don’t have any Forever Nuts on hand, but I feel like there’s a bit more apple flavour coming out here, which combines wonderfully with the bready, slightly nutty cinnamon flavours. The blends are extremely similar though, but luckily, I absolutely ADORE Forever Nuts, therefore the same goes for this tea! It just won’t be one I need to purchase, since I have a local DT. [My rating should be 1 point lower than Forever Nuts, simply due to availability, but I don’t know what that rating is right now. Will change later.]

ETA: Two fabulous additional infusion (both in less water).

This is my nummy night tea. I love this stuff to pieces!

Kittenna

Then it should be comforting to know that DT’s blend is so similar; you have a backup! I adore it too. I really should pick some up tomorrow (today!?)

Azzrian

:) so did you make an order during your overnight spree? LOL

Kittenna

Haha, no online ordering. I just need to head to DavidsTea today to pick up some tea for Amanda (and myself).

Azzrian

Haha good girl

Additional notes: Sample sipdown! This has to be one of my older teas, but I was savoring this one. I’ll miss it, though I do have an ESP Emporium blend that is a lot like it. I never stopped being MYSTIFIED by this MAGICAL blend! It is so almondy and sweet. The scent is almost better than the flavor. Any tea lover REALLY should try this one at least once!!

Mmm, tasty tea! The moment I read the description for this, I thought it sounded a lot of David’s Tea’s Forever Nuts. and it is indeed very similar. This one tastes more natural though. And the apple seems more present. There’s definitely a lightly cinnamon-y cookie flavor. and it tastes like fresh toasty almonds! How is this done? Magic I tells you! Very tasty and nutty and good. My dog seems to like it too! Yaay.

Imagine a hot cup of this tea with a puppy napping on your lap. Heaven.

Oh yes, I happen to be home because I’m in between temp assignments at the moment. I think I just landed another one to start next week! At my previous assignment, some permanent people looked on me with pity, but I think of this as a vacation. I don’t have any debts or responsibilities at the moment so you gotta enjoy life while you can!

Until then, I’ll keep looking for that job which will allow me to bring my pups to work. :D

Azzrian

Awee I hope you find that job! And this tea – Oh YUM it is indeed amazing!

In the past couple days I’ve had this and forever nuts and I’m pretty sure they are the same. This tea is ok for me. Tealizzy is right that brioche tastes very similar to this but with a good black tea base. She’s so right. I love brioche, but I like the dimension the black tea adds to it. This tea tastes ok, but just seems to be missing something. Plus I’m not a fan of the beetroot.

Update: Actually, this one is growing on me. Not as fakey as forever nuts. More apple maybe? Hmm, I may actually reorder this.

Oh this is REALLY good! I am so thankful Joy’s Teaspoon so kindly sent me samples because it has introduced me to some more GREAT teas. I placed an order for a tin of spicy pear (a new favorite!) and I received my order in 3 days! super fast! I love the fact that the tea came labeled and in a nice tin. Along with the order they sent me two additional samples… english breakfast and almond cookie! I am drinking the almond cookie now and it is wonderful!
Cinnamon, almond cookie goodness! I am not usually a fan of herbal tisanes but this is one I could definitely see myself placing an order for. Also on a side note my three year old LOVES it! She was so happy when I told her it was a “cookie” tea.

I’m jealous of your 3 day shipping!! Since I chose the cheaper shipping option ($7.50, lol), it takes two weeks to get to Canada. I placed my second order last Tuesday, but according the website it’s still being prepared, : ( (Big downer).

Thanks to Naomi for this sample. :) I actually lost it in my bag, just found it tonight. So I’m enjoying a cup right now. Delish!

This tastes like a liquid almond cookie. Normally I’m allergic to almonds (which is a shame since they are so yummy), but I don’t have (too) much of an issue with this tisane. OK, it makes my mouth swell up slightly but a benadryl later, I’m cool.

Still, this is delicious treat – cinnamon, allspice, almond. YUM! I would buy it, but the allergic reaction is stopping me…however, that means the almonds are real. ;) It’s not the tisane’s fault that my body hates almonds (and other tree nuts).

It brews up yummy too – just like a cookie. I’m in love!

Another free sample from Joy’s Teaspoon was this tisane, which I had to try because I love all thing almond. The instructions for this brew called for a lot of tea per water (2 tsp/6oz), so I ended up using the whole sample for my 12oz Kati cup. During the long steep of 10 minutes, my office started smelling like a bakerie. Wow does this tea smell mind blowingly good. Like a cinnamon bun, or a snickerdoodle, or those sugar encrusted almonds they sell at fairs, or just a bunch of sugary, cinnamony goodness. Yum. The brewed liquor is bright red, which was surprising, although I guess that’s the beetroot.

So what does it taste like? Sweet, and a little fruity-tart, like a cinnamon-covered dehydrated apple ring. Yeah, I’m getting a lot of apple out of it. It’s certainly delicious, and the aroma of roasted sugar-covered almonds is present, but it doesn’t seem like the main event for me. Would I order it? There’s a good chance of that, but as delicious sweet apple cinnamon baked good tisane, not so much as an almond tea.

Yeah, exactly! I just tried it for the first time and this was pretty much exactly how I felt word for word about it, at least at first.

(Sorry this is a zillion years later. I’m new. Just have a hard time keeping me vigorous head nodding to myself when I react to a tea in a way none of the first reviews here I read seem to, then find the one that does, ha.)

Whoa – cinnamon and almond perfection! The only thing is, this doesn’t taste like any almond cookie I’ve ever had, it’s actually better. The flavor is a great mix of caramelized almonds and bakery-like cinnamon goodness. Unlike many teas, the cinnamon is not at all overpowering. There is a bit of apple flavor from the apples used in the base, but it doesn’t interfere with the almond cookie flavor at all. I will be hoarding my sample of this and not sharing any of it with others. It’s all mine! Prepared with stevia.

I LOVE the color of this tisane. It’s a beautiful pink color. It’s pretty darn tasty too. I taste a lot of apple tartness and almond sweetness. I love the nuttiness of this tisane too. It does have an aftertaste that I can’t quite name and I don’t exactly love. It’s a good taste and it’s pretty awesome iced. Not my favorite but still really tasty.

It definitely requires the full brewing time to get the best flavor and if you cold brew it, it needs 8+ hours.
