This is great. Of all the teas I have tasted that are simalar to this one I have to say this one is the best. Thanks again Stacey, I will be adding this one to my list of teas to buy.

The best part is how balanced and gentle it was.

Nice review! I am tempted to place and order to try this out :)

Uniquity

I saw on another tea review that their almond cookie mix might be changing soon as she is experimenting with a stronger almond flavour. FYI! : )

Infusin_Susan

I have a sample of this as well! Looking forward to trying it.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Oh no I hope she doesn’t change the formula.

Butiki Teas

Uniquity-I just got a big order for this tea, so now I only have maybe 6oz of it left. I was hoping I had enough to last a few weeks until my new blend was complete but I don’t think it will last more than a few days. The new tea has a more distinct almond flavor.

drank Grape Oolong by Butiki Teas
618 tasting notes

The dry leaf of this tea is really pretty cute. Small, tightly curled leaves and a very overwhelming scent of grape. This grape reminds me of the grape in some candies (and even some medicines). As it steeps, the oolong steps to the front and mingles with the grape scent. Sipping.. I’m very impressed with the flavor. A nice sweet grape (I’m thinking purple grapes) wrapped around oolong. Delicious! No one flavor, to me at least, overpowers the other. I am really enjoying the earthy flavor of the oolong and the smooth sweetness of the grape. Thank you Stacy for a very tasty drink!

Very smooth, creamy, light and lemony. I enjoyed this very much and if it is a reflection of the remaining samples that Stacey of Butiki Teas sent me then I think she can add me to her list of future customers. Very good, thanks Stacey!

This will be my 3rd sample from Butiki teas. Thank you again! I had never had a very “floral” type tea before, but this is a great first impression. It’s very fun to watch as these pearls steep and I guess (for me at least) it adds to the whole tea experience. The flavor is very much jasmine. When I opened the bag it’s very in your face, hence my waiting to try this tea out of trepidation. But the flavor is smooth and the final taste is pure jasmine blossoms. I feel like I’m eating them! Which in this case, is not at all a bad thing. It’s very nice to sip slowly.

I don’t yet know how I feel about jasmine, but mine smells strongly of the two mint teas that came with it. I’ve seperated it from the others in the hopes that when I try it, it will just smell like itself for an authentic experience.

Tamm

When my package came, I actually was worried that the jasmine smell had passed to the other tea samples. I did the same thing as you, by separated it from the other teas. After about two days the other samples didn’t smell like the jasmine anymore. I hope that yours works out!

drank Peach Oolong by Butiki Teas
43 tasting notes

I was afraid of this tea because I do not generally drink flavored teas. But I like oolongs and I like peach, so it was something I wanted to try. The smell in the package was very strong, this also worried me. I was afraid that I would not taste the oolong, but I was wrong. The oolong flavor was strong and the peach accented it well. I was quite impressed. I enjoyed this cup of tea a lot.

drank Vanilla Cream by Butiki Teas
78 tasting notes

Wow this is really good! I would buy more of this for sure! It’s scent is a nice warm vanilla with a touch of sweetness.
It was a great dessert tea, since it is honeybush and no caffeine, I drank it on a cold windy rainy night and it just warmed me up. The taste is a creamy vanilla (duh) that has a bit of fullness which I like. This is in my top 5 of vanilla cream for sure it is really good try it you won’t be sorry!

drank Exotic Pear by Butiki Teas
78 tasting notes

This is another free sample that I was so fortunate to try. This is really light and smells like pears but with floral undertones. I put it in my steeping cup(didn’t seem like there would be enough to make a cup, the leaves and flowers are pretty big) it was really pretty!

After the steep I could smell the warm pear and the florals. It tastes just like it smells, it was really smooth and pretty juicy but the end notes definitely were floral. I really enjoyed this and would have liked to try this ice because I think it would really bring out the pear even more!

This was really good… I enjoyed it. It had a citrusy smell at first before the steep. After the steep it was a very gorgeous red color. I could smell the sweet lemon. The first taste was really good and juicy. The second taste I was able to taste the creaminess of the pie, or maybe more of a pudding flavor. It is really smooth and full and leaves my mouth watering. This is not a bitter lemon or sour at all it is more of a sweet lemon. I know some people don’t like if you can’t taste the tea, but with this one you can taste the rooibos but not the woodiness if that makes sense anyways it is really good, give it a try!

I’ve been excited to try this tea, as I love floral teas. The oolong leaves are somewhat rolled up with flower petals incorporated around them. The try leaves have a wonderfully pungent rosy-flowery smell with an underlying fruity aroma. The tea brewed up into a very pale yellow liquor, and the jasmine now takes the forefront in the aroma, with the rose underlying it. The flavor is very floral and perfumed, and if you don’t tend to enjoy floral teas this one probably isn’t for you. The first flavor that hits me is the rose, with the jasmine on the latter part of the taste. I’m not sure I can really pick out the violet and calendula individually, but they are certainly contributing to the overall flavor. There’s an overall very faint sweetness to the tea. I’m definitely enjoying this one, and can see ordering some more!

This would be good on ice, very mellow in nature. Doesn’t have a pungent Oolong flavor coming thru , but a very mild flavor.

Backlogging:
Still had some left from a free sample, but this is one I’ve got on my order list for later in December. I love oolong and strawberry so it’s no surprise I love this one.
The strawberry flavor is very natural-tasting, no artificial stuff here. YUMS!

I love anything strawberry and this is one of the best strawberry teas I have ever tasted. The strawberry flavor is real – not that artificial candy flavor (not that there is anything wrong with that). The oolong base is bold & strong enough to hold its own with the strawberry presence. It tastes wonderful. No sweetener necessary. This reminds me of Californian summers.
EDIT: I gulped this down in a few minutes and resteeped. The tea was just as strawberry-licious and oolong-tastic as it was the first time around. Thanks for the sample, Butiki. You’ve got a customer! :)

I can’t wait to try this one, still waiting for my samples. Just got back from my trip to Arizona and have been re-united with my Zojirushi so I would just love to break it in again with one of these Butiki Teas.

Daddyselephant

oooooooooooooooooooo strawberry oolong….will definitely need to look in to this!

KeenTeaThyme

This is amazing! I only have enough left for one more cup, or else I’d share. :( But it’s delish!

drank Ginger Rooibos by Butiki Teas
78 tasting notes

Well this was an interesting one that I couldn’t wait to try. I love all things ginger and thought that this was going to be a good mix, spicy and woodsy.

When I opened up the baggie it smelled kind of lemony with ginger… I couldn’t place the smell but it seemed familar. I brewed it up and it was such a beautiful deep red color. Another whiff and the ginger was bit more pronounced.
First taste and it was really mellow smooth, smoother than other Rooibos, I didn’t get the woodsy taste at all it was a citrusy with a bit of ginger not the spicey ginger but more of a candied ginger.

After a few sips I finally placed the smell, it smells like a Ricola lemon cough drop :) Once I figured that out it was kind of hard to get past the smell. The taste is good just the smell that got to me!

I love rooibos and I love creamy dessert teas. I also enjoy a bit of fruit in them from time to time! Today I am sampling this tea and I am so glad I did! This smelled to me, like Joy’s Teaspoon’s Lemon Zest and Praise Tea’s Roo Lemon Pie. I honestly am not able to taste a large difference between all of these teas. HOWEVER, I did notice a smoother finish and swallow with Butiki Teas’ blend. For that, it does get a higher rating from me. Smooth, lemon dessert tea! This is my favorite Butiki blend (so far) and I must thank Stacy once again!

drank Sencha Superior by Butiki Teas

I think I enjoyed this tea. It was a little difficult to tell, but that is because it was mailed with some scented teas. The flavor of one of the teas seeped into the sencha. I enjoyed the sencha notes that I could discern from the bleeding scent. I am optimistic about this tea.

Thank you for the feedback. I was a little worried something like that might happen. Normally, I only add one sample to each order so it isn’t a problem. I think those sample bags are just too unprotected to send multiple samples at a time without at least trying to separate them from each other.

Spot52

For the subsequent non-flavored teas, I let them air out a little before brewing. This helped to delete the flavor contamination. Not a bad plan.

This is so GOOD! I opened up the package and it smells like a sweet lemonny sugar cookie to me… very mellow lemon cookie but it smells so yummy. I did the brew according to the directions only two and minutes for a black tea. It brewed up such a pretty reddish amber color, and then I took a sip…

Mmmm, this is so smooth and mellow and delightful. You can taste the almond and the citrus, it is such a nice blend. I can taste a bit of the tea in the background but really it is a sweet citrus taste, it is so good and smooth. It leaves my mouth feeling happy! I think that I am going to have to order some of this!

Yummy!

MMMM this tea smells really good… Not super amount of coconut but you still get whiffs of it, but you can smell the rooibos and something else that makes it very smooth or creamy smelling.

I steeped it and tasted it, for me it was a bit too woodsy ( the rooibos) so I sweetened it just a bit. I could taste the coconut at the end just a bit and my mouth had a creamy fullness in it. This is pretty goood!
Thanks so much for sending us samples really fun to taste new teas!

drank Wen Shan Bao Zhong by Butiki Teas

Oolong is so great. This is a lighter one with a sweet floral flavor that reminds me of a fine white wine, but without the alcohol flavor. I would say very good for a light Oolong…

This is another of my free samples from Butiki! Almond is one of my favorite flavors, so I of course had to try this one. I accidentally steeped it for a touch longer than the steeping time on the package, but it didn’t seem to hurt the tea. The color is a nice medium orangey-red. The first smell that hits me is sugar cookies, followed by cinnamon, the earthy aromas of the black tea base, and a bright hint of citrus. Taken all together, the smell once again really reminds me of the candy-encrusted roasted almonds you find at fairs (same as the almond cookie from Joy’s Teaspoon). I get very similar notes from the taste; this one does a pretty good job of actually tasting like those sugar-cinnamon coated almonds too. However, I’m more getting a feeling of almond than an actual taste; I’m sure the almond pieces and flavoring is contributing to the overall experience, but this tea just doesn’t have what I consider to be strong, pure almond notes. I get a slight bitterness from the tea, but it actually works well because it melds just right with the flavor. I think I lose some of the bakery-cookie notes in the taste, but that’s ok with me. I must have a somewhat different idea of what an almond cookie tastes like, because to an almond cookie basically just tastes like almond—no cinnamon, or spices, just plain, delicious almond. In any case in the “almond cookie” genre of teas, this one is quite good, if a bit less almondy than I’d like.

I really hope I asked for this one for my Butiki reviews!

Butiki Teas

Interesting that you bring up that the almond isn’t as strong as you would like. I just so happen to be making a new blend of this tea using a flavoring that is much more concentrated almond almost cherry like (or at least that’s how I describe it). Additionally, the tea base will be of higher quality and organic. The tea should be completed in a few weeks after I do a blind taste test with some tea friends.

Dinosara

Cool! I’ll definitely have to try the new blend!

Despite being eager to sample all of Butiki’s Oolong teas, I was weary about trying this one. The last time I tried a tea with roses in it, I felt like I was drinking perfume. Or sipping on Mrs. Kaplan from the second grade. This tea smells more “potpourri” than a steeped Mrs. Kaplan.

It actually smells more like my Jasmine candles after steeping it — though not necessarily like “Jasmine tea” Jasmine. The smell is amazing. I have Jasmine candles for a reason: the aroma and warmth soothes and relaxes me. I noticed that this tea has a similarly calming effect. Possibly doubly calming as the process of drinking warm tea is itself already soothing.

The taste is nothing remarkable. It’s a pleasant, non-descript good quality green tea with only a bare hint of floral in the flavor while warm. It’s something that I can see myself drinking any time without having to wait until the mood strikes me.

The only downside to this tea is that its magical therapeutic properties seem to evaporate once it becomes cold. The aroma transforms back to “potpourri” as does the taste. I don’t like drinking it after that.

drank Grape Oolong by Butiki Teas
4 tasting notes

It smells and tastes like the grape lollipops I use to get whenever I went to the pediatrician as a kid. The texture is buttery and smooth. The flavor leans more toward the vegetal side while hot, and the grape becomes increasingly “present” as it cools. It’s very drinkable, but maybe a little too sweet and candy-like for my personal preference. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re the type who loves sweets and gravitates toward grape flavors.

Despite the shorter steep time, this makes a very dark cup of tea! The smell of the dry leaf reminds me very much of SpecialTeas’ almond cookie (another one of my favorites). While the scent is beautiful and very yummy, the taste is not as strong on the almond/cookie flavor. My tongue detects more of the tea base than the additional flavors. The flavor does not have the same doughy/bakery flavor that SpecialTeas’ blend has. It is a good cup, but I prefer my teas to be heavier on the flavor and lighter on the base. Thank you, Stacy!

So many Butiki Teas have arrived & I’m so excited to try all of them. I had the strawberry oolong earlier, but wasn’t in the mood to write a tasting note (I’ll do so later). My favorite coconut rooibos used to be from Teas Etc. The last pouch I ordered just tasted… rather gross, like something was wrong with the batch. I haven’t purchased that tea since. It’s been a while since I’ve had a coconut rooibos & I’m very happy to have a good one back in my collection!

I wasn’t expecting anything that different from when I last enjoyed this tea. There are small oily dots on the surface of the tea — I find them to be present with most coconut teas. The flavor is smooth & very full of coconut! For me, the rooibos is relatively hidden, but adds almost a hint of spice to the cup. The finish is creamy and sweet. I love the way it lingers after the sip has disappeared.

This tea has now taken what used to be coconut custard’s top spot. I’ll be buying more of this when I am all out!
