I needed an extra special tea time as a treat today after dealing with taxes and other assorted business like hospital bills. This tea came to mind as something new to explore in the birthday box sent by Martin – many thanks!

I defrosted some cream puffs and added fresh blueberries for the snack part and steeped this up by Martin’s and the seller’s recommendations. It was a nice WOW for today.

The first steep is full of flavor, with lots of high notes but not unpleasantly sharp, a bit of spice like warm cinnamon, and a fruitiness that makes me think of white wine. There is something woody about it as well, and if you have had many teas from Nepal you will recognize this one pretty well as being from that terroir. Such clarity to the fresh flavors!

The second steep seemed to change in body and become more creamy, and a raisin note has popped in. It is almost as if I mixed in a few leaves of Golden Monkey. This was a delightful tea to explore as a treat on a persnickety but productive day!

I always tell myself I won’t wait until the deadline to do my taxes…and yet somehow I always procrastinate until the last day anyway :P

A persnickety day. That’s a great description. Glad you had a treat at the end of it!

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
