69 Tasting Notes
I picked up a small heart tin of this tea when it came out around Valentine’s Day. Out of the three, I was most excited to try this one and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The strawberry flavour really comes out but isn’t overwhelming. I tried this tea hot and iced and although I prefer it hot, it was still quite a good iced tea. Since then, I have redeemed one of my frequent steeper rewards for a 50 g bag of this tea and have used it all up. I hope this one comes back because when it does, I am going to have to grab some more.
Flavors: Berry, Cream, Strawberry
Preparation
I picked up 25 g of this tea in the heart tins as a part of the Valentine’s Day Collection. I knew that since the tea had roses in it, the odds of me liking it were slim. I was pleasantly surprised and ended up liking this tea a lot more than I thought I would. I think that the chocolate helped to balance out the rose flavour that could have been much more overpowering than it was. All in all, I finished my tin but I will likely not be repurchasing this tea as I can’t see myself being able to drink a lot of it.
Flavors: Chocolate, Rose
Preparation
This tea was meh. Just meh. I wasn’t overly impressed with it at all and don’t understand the hype. I tried it because of unrelenting recommendations from friends. I’ve tried it hot, hot with agave, and as a hot latte and still am not much of a fan. It’s too much sweetness without any real flavour for my taste. I won’t be repurchasing this and am glad the 50 g bag I got is now gone as it took me months to finish it.
Flavors: Sugar, Sweet
I absolutely love this tea iced. It reminds me of real cotton candy and is just the right amount of sweet. I bought 100 g of this tea and have since used it all up. I am really hoping for this one to return in the summer. I have also found that I love this tea as an iced latte. I will definitely repurchase some of this if/when it returns.
Flavors: Candy, Cotton Candy, Sweet
Preparation
I picked up a 50 g bag of this tea a long time ago to try with my frequent steeper points. Right off the bat, the lemon smell was overwhelmingly sour. I also found the tea itself to be really sour and no matter how short of a time I steeped it, it was too strong for my taste and I usually like my tea strong. I will not be buying any more of this and am glad it is gone.
Flavors: Lemon, Sour
Preparation
Advent calendar day 15. I’ve wanted to try this tea for a long time since I love coconut cream pie. It smelled like coconut for sure and when I steeped it, the flavour was light. I tried way oversteeping it and the flavour was stronger and I definitely prefer it this way. I quite enjoyed this tea. Since then, I’ve picked up 50 g using my redemptions.
Flavors: Coconut
Preparation
I bought a 50 g bag of this tea on sale online to try since I have heard it being spoken highly of and constantly had it recommended to me. Well, I was not disappointed. It is not one of my all-time favourite teas but it is very tasty. It is pretty much everything I want from a mint chocolate tea. I just wish there was a little bit more chocolate flavour to balance out the mint. Other than that, I do like this tea and crave it regularly. I find it is best with some agave added to sweeten it just a little. I’m not sure if I will repurchase more when I run out, but I will consider it. Also, I think this tea would make an amazing latte.
Flavors: Chocolate, Mint
Preparation
Advent calendar day 11. I wasn’t expecting this tea to actually taste like hot chocolate which is good because it doesn’t. I didn’t get much of a chocolate flavour at all. It tastes very watered down, even after a long steep time. It was okay. Not great, not terrible. I would drink this if someone gave it to me or maybe mixed with other teas but I wouldn’t buy it myself.
Flavors: Chocolate
Preparation
Advent calendar day 10. I’ve had this tea iced in the past and had it hot for the first time today. It smells very fruity and tastes similar to the way it smells. I’d definitely consider purchasing more of this tea as it is super refreshing iced and just as good hot.
Flavors: Fruity, Passion Fruit
Preparation
Advent calendar day 9. I am a fan of this tea. It has a subtle flavour of nuts and cinnamon and smells like faint appley cinnamon. Every time I drink it, I forget it turns bright pink and am surprised all over again. Today, mine turned a shade of pink only comparable to magenta. Someday, I want to try this tea as a latte. I would consider purchasing more of this tea as I can see myself drinking it all year long.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Nuts
