drank White Cranberry Bark by DAVIDsTEA

This tea did not taste good, which was unfortunately what I expected. After the first few sips, I ended up waiting for my cupful to cool just enough to chug the rest.

Flavors: Apple, Cranberry, Raisins

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 4 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

As I drank this tea, I was comparing it to two others: Cream of Earl Grey and Vanilla Bergamot. Bergamot Kisses is not as good as the former, but better than the latter. For my first cup, I overreacted to a strong bitter flavour in early sips and added too much rock sugar, which wasn’t enjoyable either; for my second cup, I added cream and a little ice, which was nice!

Flavors: Bergamot, White Chocolate

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 3 min, 30 sec 5 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

drank Sweet Tart by DAVIDsTEA

I had enough Frequent Steeper points to redeem a free Tea of the Day, so I tried Sweet Tart. Oddly, the employee behind the counter didn’t ask me if I wanted a hot or cold tea, so I ended up with hot tea (by default?) At first the tart cherry was the only flavour that I could discern, but as the tea cooled a bit, some sweetness came through. It reminded me of sucking on a hard cherry candy.

Flavors: Candy, Cherry, Tart

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 min, 30 sec 5 tsp 17 OZ / 500 ML

drank Caramel Shortbread by DAVIDsTEA

I should know better than to drink a herbal tea. I got Caramel Shortbread as a free sample addition to one of my online orders. I tasted neither caramel nor shortbread; in fact, this wasn’t a very sweet tea.

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 3 min, 30 sec 50 g 18 OZ / 532 ML

drank Sticky Rice Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

I love this tea, both its flavour and its aroma. It indeed smells like the dried lotus leaves used to wrap one of my favourite dimsum foods, 糯米雞, so it’s a very nostalgic experience to sip a cup while sitting at my desk at work so far from any dimsum restaurants. I bought 100g just before Christmas, made the mistake of letting my mom try some, and had my tea tin stolen from me. So I bought another 100g for myself after Boxing Day.

Flavors: Rice

drank Chocolate Covered Almond by DAVIDsTEA

I got this as part of the Throwback Sweethearts gift box. I haven’t had such a good track record with these teas. I try to mix Chocolate Covered Almond with other black teas, such as Salted Caramel, Chocolate Cake, or Ice Cream Cake; I’ll add milk, but no sugar.

Flavors: Almond

190 °F / 87 °C 4 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

drank Vanilla Sencha by DAVIDsTEA

I’ve been on a kick where I only want to drink strong, over-steeped, traditional teas. Vanilla Sencha does wonders for my craving. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I’d use the same leaves and re-steep for a second time, but I loved this tea enough to buy 250g during the last big DT sale.

Flavors: Vanilla, Vegetal

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 6 min, 30 sec 5 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

drank Cookie Dough by DAVIDsTEA

I got this as part of the Throwback Sweethearts gift box. I had such high hopes for this tea! However, my first few sips were quite bitter. I added rock sugar to bring out the sweetness, but more than anything else, I could only taste nuts (almond and walnut). Not bad, but not good either.

Flavors: Almond, Walnut

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 4 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

You’re most likely to find: Black/Green/Oolong Teas. Caramel. Chocolate. Cream.

I am also tempted by: Flowers. Comparisons to alcohol. Berries.

Despite the above, I generally dislike herbal teas and fruit infusions.

Coffee flavours do not belong in tea. If I want coffee, I will go to Starbucks.
