Gongfu!
I am definitely guilty of overloading this gaiwan, but this tea still came out delicious despite that – albeit quite strong. A bit of a floral leaning creamed honey note is the through-line of the session but this is mixed with notes of crunchy and astringent autumnal leaves, brown sugar, hot hay, and a hint of overripe red fruits. Generally, as the weather gets cooler, I tend to favor roasted or darker teas – shou or yancha, as an example. However this session was a nice reminder that white teas can be autumnal too, in their own way!!
