Our 2020 Camphornought is a wallop of woody flavors and low toned aromas in a thick bodied, smooth tea. There is a slight touch of bitterness inside the burly forest of flavors and even a light faded smoke in the backdrop. If you’re the type who enjoys whisky or a pipe on the porch, Camphornought is the shou Puer version of that.
Each cake is 200 grams of tea.

Morning session from my second day working on location! The studio I was at had this GORGEOUS hand painted stairway leading up to it and when I saw it the first day I knew that I wanted to bring teaware with for the second day and have tea on the stairwell at some point. Such a beautiful urban aesthetic!!
I caked this rich and aggressively woody shou after trying one of the Minis last year and it does not disappoint!! Aside for camphor notes from the first infusions up until this last; this rich brew is drenched in petrichor, decaying wood, and all the flavours of the dark part of the woods! I felt like it was a pretty average session length for a shou of this style, and having something deep and burly like that felt good as a morning kick in the butt/wake up tea.

I just get a “you must login or else!” blank out screen on any Instagram link. Since I don’t have an account and don’t want an account, that pretty much means I can never see anything posted there. FB is nearly as bad for me, except they let me KINDA move their “sign in or else!” blockout screen down a bit so I get a tiny viewable window…
