2008 American Hao 0801 Pu-erh Tea Cake 200g (美国号0801曼撒原野香乔木青饼)
The first of its series, this cake is made by using Spring arbor materials from Mansa, northeast of Yiwu area. We called it ‘Mansa Yuan Ye Xiang’ (Chinese: 曼撒原野香). It means ‘Original Aroma from Wild Mansa’.
Mansa is one of ancient (original) six famous tea mountains, located within the boundaries of Manla county. Mansa was renamed as Manla nowadays, because of being rich in the tea production. In local Dai minority’s language, ‘Man’ means village, while ‘La’ means tea. So Manla really means a tea village.
The elevation of Mansa is between 750-1958 meters, with the tropical rainforest climate, the annual mean temperature 17.2 degrees Celsius, the annual rainfall 1600 millimeters. The soil at this tea-growing region is fertile and deep, the pH value between 5-5.5. At present Manla has 42 natural villages, 1356 households, the total population is 6571 people, including the Chinese (Han), Yi, Yao, Dai, Wa, and Hani minorities to live together, the total area of ancient tea garden is 5000 Chinese acres with an annual production of 4.5 – 5 tons high quality tea.
