Dry leaf smells immensely like candied mango, the kind that you would get in china town. A lot of sweetness coming off of the dried leaf’s aroma.
The wet leaf has much more of an assamica aroma but with a lot of sweetness.
The liquor is a nice red color. Lots of spices on the midst of this tea with a wonderful maltiness that is not overpowering at all. This is a really good tea that is super solid but requires some attention. Not because it over brews easily but because in order to decipher all of these flavors you will want to pay attention.

This is a nice tea and a really good drinker if you are into black teas. There are notes of passionfruit on the top that ends in brown sugar and molasses. Lots of cinnamon and spices in the middle. This is a solid tea for winter and for the morning with bold flavors to wake you up. This tea also is good flash iced in the summer months. This is a solid all around tea that is not very expensive and easily accessible for experienced drinkers and newcomers alike.

Smell coming from the wet leaves smells like a lot of oats, barley and cereal with a nice sweet greenness to it smells like it has a nice roast to it as well. On the first steep there isn’t a TON of flavor but I can tell that there is something good to come. The second steep has some definite notes of barley, replacing it is a nice baked cherry flavor. Some interesting acidity like a lime but without the sourness. The third steep is like the second but stronger. The rest of this tea will be taken on the road with multiple steeps stacked. I will review this tea again when I have another session with it. From the first three steeps I quite enjoyed the fruitiness coming from it along with the really interesting top acidic note.

I can’t really place the smell of this tea. It tastes kind of like a spice cupboard, you know the mixture of all these different smells and powders. The first wash is crazy, it has a wonderful front but the back is astounding it tastes like you opened a pack of sugar and then poured it into your mouth. While that was happening however you also decided to caramelized that sugar in your mouth. This tea doesn’t exactly have huigan but it’s almost like it. This tea is aromatic to the nose but not in the mouth. Crazy cinnamon sweetness to this tea. This tea is super-ceding all of my expectations.

1st steeps 15 sec plus 5 seconds per steep. Nice roasted smell with bread coming from the wet leaf. The steep brewed up with not a ton of flavor but with a really nice sweetness. The sweetness coming at the end tastes like pure sugar. A nice soft maltiness, not too much like in some assamicas. Some wonderful fruitiness coming in the front like baked bananas and roasted apples. Very nice filling tea.

A really pleasant astringency in this tea that ends in a wonderful smooth sweetness. This tea is mellow but with enough flavor to support it. Its almost as if someone put some cream in this tea and mixed it up. Hold up well with heat and long steeps a nice energy that really heated up my body a lot. Poundcake is appropriate name for this tea but it also has a name vegetal and medicinal aspect to it with a wonderful sweetness at the end that keeps you going back. Very nice tea.

I liked this tea but if felt a little bit thin in flavor. The aroma coming from both the wet and dry leaves were delightful. The dry leaves had a nice balanced roasted smell to them while the dry leaves had an intense smell of Christmas to it, some nice dark chocolate flavors plus a little bit of cinnamon with it. The mouth feel is quite good and it has a nice taste to it. The only problem with this tea is the fact that there is not a ton of taste past the roast.

Wow! The aroma of this tea is crazy. An extreme fruitiness coming from the aroma that is extremely intoxicating. The aroma coming from just the dry leaf and the heated gaiwan make me never want to stop smelling it. Peaches and lovely balanced roasted charcoal flavor a delicious minerality. The first three steeps brewed in red in color and were absolutely delicious. The tea coated my mouth leaving a wonderful sweet aftertaste.

This is the only Lapsang that I have tried so I don’t have much frame of reference. That being said this is an extremely pleasant black tea its very fruity. Would definitely recommend those who are trying to get into Chinese black tea. Very sweet black tea with almost no astringency, don’t be afraid to push it.

It’s got a nice roast the tea tastes really clean not too much complexity on the first steep but still quite refreshing and nice.
It’s got an interesting smell, quite green and lots of top notes with a little sourness but with a lovely roasted quality with its body.
I’m the actual tea there is only a slight slight sourness that I would blame more on the quality of the water then the tea. The top notes that I smell on the tea are much different then the. The after taste is all delicious roast.
Pushed this tea pretty hard on this steep and the next one. No bitterness or astringency. Not a lot of complexity either but still very refreshing. Its got quite a nice fruity quality to it that is quite refreshing.
