As far as caramel apple teas go, I prefer the one by the Market Spice. In my opinion, caramel apple should be sweet and so the spices in this add a flavor that are completely unnecessary. It detracts from what I believe should be the focus.

I also found a perfume-ish thing going on here.

VariaTEA

I really was not a fan.

Hello.Kiki

The idea of a caramel apple tea sounds amazing! I’ll have to look up the one you mentioned.

EveInOrbit

The MarketSpice herbal teas are good but the others can be downright undrinkable (IMO). At least that was my recent experience with their Pumpkin Pie Tea.

noyadefleur

I found this way too apple-y and not enough sweetness or carmel element.

VariaTEA

Apple was definitely most prominent but I feel the combination of spices and caramel just competed too much for either one to be enjoyable.

This is a pretty decent tea. There are very few Della Terra teas that have amazed me, and while this one doesn’t amaze me, it’s still tasty. I’m not getting any spice at all, but the apple is there and a sweetness, which I’ll say is the toffee. Overall a decent cup, I’ll have no problem finishing off the sample.

Also, my proposal was accepted! I’ll be presenting to the biology department at term end.

these spices just aren’t for me is all.
nothing personal.
a classic case of “it’s not the tea, it’s me”.

This is a really delicious tea and it is true to its name. I first tried it in my timolino on our second trip up to Apple Hill this year. Yes, we wanted more apple strudel, and apple chipotle grilling sauce! Yum!

This tea was great in my timolino, and that’s saying something, because it usually makes tea taste thin. Although I do have to say that Della Terra’s teas tend to do well in the timolino.

So, the smell is amazing. And as far as the taste, you get a little spice at first, and then the sip transforms into creamy caramel apple. I love it! Definitely a winner. :)

This smells really nice, liked spiced apples. It’s not as flavourful as I was expecting. Though I do like the cider taste.

Yeah, so this tea didn’t really cut it for me, despite how delicious it smelled in the bag. I used a teaspoon and a bit for eight oz of water, added in a very small dash of cream and a few pieces of rock sugar. I could definitely taste a bit of tartness that was distantly reminiscent of apple, and couldn’t really detect the caramel or spice at all. Of course I’ll throw in the blurb about how it might not be the tea, it might be me, my bad brewing, bla bla bla, but yeah, just not ultimately inspired by this one. I don’t know what i was expecting, but it wasn’t this. I finished the cup—it’s not like it was horrible or anything. It just wasn’t anything special, and I just can’t find words to describe why. It just wasn’t. Wow, look at me being verbose.

Now, all of this pretty much doesn’t matter at the moment because my friend who travelled to the UK just e-mailed me to let me know that she picked up my Mariage Freres teas! The de Lune, and marco Polo! I can’t wait to get my hands and nose all over that package as soon as she gets back!

Dry, this tea smells much like the Apples & Molasses mix (also from Della Terra)…pleasant enough, but nothing that particularly impressed me. I think I might just not enjoy apple-featuring teas as much as some folk, so take my review with a grain of salt.

It steeps up to a rich-looking tea and has a mouthwatering scent of spices and just a hint of fruity apple. You don’t get much caramel from the smell, although I rather expected that.

On first taste I was admittedly a little disappointed – there’s no caramel flavour in this tea that I could find (and I even made a point of sweetening it to try and draw it out). As a few others have said, this is a very palatable cider-esque drink. I enjoy the notes of apple and the very mild spicy tones, but it’s not one I’ll be restocking.

So I’m getting back around to this one without having had spicy mac and cheese beforehand (as I mentioned in my tasting note for Classic Apple Pie) so that I can properly assess it. I already didn’t think I liked it much, and now I can say that it was better with the extra spice already lingering in my mouth the first time around :)

It’s not so bad. I get the caramel apple flavors that it boasts, but in an unfortunately cheap and artificial way. I’d like if the spice was more pronounced.

Della Terra was nice enough to send me a sample of this tea with my order, which is great because it’s a tea I was looking at to try next. I did sweeten this with a tiny bit of vanilla agave. I get mostly apple in this tea, there is a hint of spice as well, but the caramel aspect is sort of missing for me. To me, it tastes a lot like an apple cider, whereby it’s much less a tart, crisp apple, and more a warm, full-bodied apple taste, which I enjoy. Overall I’m glad I tried it, and I like it, but I probably won’t be rushing to order more.

I had some of this one on Sunday and thought I posted a note, but don’t find it. I got this from Tea Sipper’s stash sale… Thanks :)

I put some of this into a tea bag to take w/me to church thinking I would use their hot water and make myself a nice cup there. I put my bag in my cup and let the water pour into the cup only to find that the water was not very hot.. Ugh. I went up to the coffee bar and my brother-in-law happened to be there and he asked how hot the water was… I told him not near hot enough but that my poor little tea bag was already submerged. He got me a nice hot cup of water and I transferred my tea bag.

Having had it poorly steeped, I will avoid rating this one yet. I could taste a few spices and the apple was a bit artificial like a Jolly Rancher, but milder.

I made a cup for my Hubby the other night and he said he liked it. Steeped, it smelled much like my first impression of tasting my poorly steeped cup.

I enjoy Della Terra’s roasted apple and it tastes like real apple to me, I shall see when I try it again.
