This came to me via a “Mystery Swap” with Eva. Thank you for letting me try this one.

I keep reading wonderful things about this tea and it did not disappoint. I am getting a deep burnt sugar caramel flavor. I am not getting pineapple per say, but the tea is very sweet so I assume the pineapple is making itself known in that fashion. Despite this tea being really sweet already I may add some sugar to my next cup to really help curb this sweet tooth tonight. This was really yummy. If I ever put in an order to Della Terra I suspect this will be in my cart.

I had this one today too – glad you liked it!

My allergies are making it nearly impossible to smell anything, so I’ll avoid rating anything until I feel human again. Still, I got a swap from My Friend Rashad today (thanks!) and the smell of this is strong enough and wonderful enough that I couldn’t resist. This tea is absolutely lovely. There’s cream and pineapple goodness going on here. I really adore Della Terra’s cream flavoring in pretty much any blend. The pineapple element tastes very natural – sweet and tangy. Unlike most of DT’s fruit & cream teas, this one has a black tea base. I’m having trouble figuring out the reason for the deviation. My current best guess is that the black tea is adding a slight astringency that rounds out the pineapple flavor. Overall, this tea is very enjoyable even when my sense of taste is dulled. It can even handle a second steep without much change in flavor. I’m looking forward to trying this when I can fully appreciate it (and maybe then I’ll be able to solve the mystery of the unusual choice of base).

Tomorrow I’m going to post my 20th review for the Battle of the Earl Greys, so I’m rather desperately craving something completely different! This came by way of a swap with Short Sorceress, and it looks and smells like it’ll be perfect!

I’m putting the whole tablespoon in my 16oz tetsubin, and I added 1 tablespoon of Sugar in the Raw. The dry smell is not at all shy and I had to double-bag it to keep it from influencing my other teas. It’s like fresh caramel: Brown sugar and butter, hot off the stove. I don’t smell the pineapple, but I hope it’s going to show up in the steeped tea.

Okay, now for the moment of truth. At first sip, the steeped tea smells and tastes like caramel popcorn. I’m still not picking up the pineapple, so just for the heck of it I’ll put part of the pot over ice… okay, now it’s cold caramel popcorn.

Well, it’s completely different than the Earl Greys and that’s really all I was asking for. Good thing I love caramel popcorn!

I tried this for the first time at the weekend, but I haven’t got around to posting my tasting note yet. I didn’t really get pineapple, either, although the cake bit was spot on!

Come to think about it, I don’t know if I’ve actually had that kind of cake before!

There is butter… in my tea? How did they do that? I smell real butter. Of course there’s pineapple and cake, yea yea whatever. Butter! It’s wild. Goes well with my cigar. Cheers.

I thought this tea was delicious. It smelled amazing and was really fun to scoop into my teamaker, because of all the moist chunks of pineapple and cherry in the blend.

However, when I drank the tea, while it was wonderful, I didn’t get the pineapple flavor or the cherry flavor. Neither did my partner. We both agreed that we got a hint of maple and a strong taste of brown sugar. So while I definitely got the “crumble” part of the upside-down cake flavor, I didn’t get the actual fruity part. Either way, I enjoyed this tea and will perhaps experiment with time and temp to see if I can’t get that fruitiness to come out.

I love this stuff. You can clearly taste all of the flavors listed and it certainly tastes like it is named. As others have noted this tea resteeps surprisingly well for a flavored black tea. This is likely a Della Terra tea I will keep permanently stocked.

I drank this tea this morning, and I really enjoyed it. It’s fruity, cakey, and a great transition from summer to fall tea (if that makes sense). I already re-steeped this once, and I may try to see if I can get a third cup out of this. :)

This smells amazing- caramelised sugar! It was so strong I could still smell it half an hour after finishing my cup. The overwhelming smell made me worry it would be too sweet even for my sweet tooth, but nope, this is yummy! I didn’t get any pineapple at first, but it’s definitely there, along with a delicious creamy cake note. Quite different to what I was expecting, but an absolute winner!

This tea is exactly what I expected and wanted out of it. Buttery, cakey and slightly pineappley. Tasty dessert tea goodness! I was a little worried by the dry smell…it reminded me of fake maple flavoring. But once steeped this one did not disappoint! Recommended :)

I got this in a very generous swap from Chuckieroy!
It has been a long time since I have had pineapple (and I have never had pineapple upside down cake), but I think I can identify the taste and I’m not tasting any in this tea. What I do taste is caramel, which is lovely, but not pineappley as I’d expect based on the name. The tea is nice, but not grabbing me like it has so many others.
