Once Upon A Time-

There was a girl who moved from her coastal town to a new one in the desert mountains. She packed away her tea for travel. When she got to the new land, she was unsure where her tea ended up. Some was found fairly soon, but the girl did not find it all. So, in the Winter, she visited a local shop for something to have on snowy days. While she was pleased with her new finding, the girl knew she still had other tea somewhere. Then one day, the girl found some of the tea she had stashed away. It was time to have some old favourites. Upon brewing, she noticed that the tea did not smell as fruity as it had it the past. However, it was still a creamy pineapple. The cake flavour was no longer so present.

The End

Flavors: Creamy, Pineapple

Oh goodie … I always love a happy ending even if it’s flavor wasn’t as good as before. :)

This also tastes exactly like DAVIDs Red Velvet Cake. I had such high hopes for you, Pineapple Upside Down Cake tea :(.

tigress_al

I think a lot of people have been disappointed with this one :(

VariaTEA

I expected more since a lot of people seem to be so pleased with it.

Uh oh, something is wrong here, I only got cherry notes and not a speck of pineapple. Maybe I need to shake the bag a bit. I did get some upside down notes though, which were enjoyable.
I will try this again sometime after I have tried all the other tea I ordered on Black Friday!

MissB

If it helps, I failed to get Pineapple Upside Down Cake when I had this as well.

Sil

The pineapple is a lie.

tigress_al

Oh good, it’s not just me

Sil

I picked this tea tonight for the sipdown!

It’s really tasty and ultra sweet. It’s enjoyable, but I think I prefer their rooibos teas and chocolate teas more than this one. I’m passing the rest on to Jackie T, who I hope enjoy it more than I did!

Plunkybug

This is on my DT wish list for the group. I like ultra sweet. :P

Thank you!!

The PINNACLE of delectable teas. The gooey-est, butteriest, most fantastic tea I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying. THE PERFECT TEA. This is the only tea I’ve ever had that I’ll give a complete 100 rating for! This is my first tasting note for Pineapple Upside Down Cake but NOT the first time I’ve had this tea. I’ve had this tea many, many times before! I’m rambling because I can’t say enough good things about this tea. Perfect 100!

Umm. Well, it’s not bad. It’s just not the wonderful pineapple cake-y flavor extravaganza I was hoping it would be. I get a lot of caramel and brown sugar and what may be yellow cake but there’s not a hint of pineapple. It also tastes very thin to me. I’m wondering if I did something wrong…

Stephanie

hmm, how much leaf did you use per cup?

AlexaK.

A Teavana “Perfect” teaspoon full, maybe a tad more.

Stephanie

hmm, I dunno then! I found this one not too thin…generally I use 1.5tsp per 8oz with a black tea if I don’t know the specific amount required.

Yvonne

Sorry to hear you didn’t care for this one! I didn’t as much as I would’ve liked to, I definitely got cake flavour but I also managed to get some pineapple flavour as well…it was mostly the cherry that hid for me.

Additional notes: Whoa, it’s been a week since I last posted a tasting note? I don’t think that has happened since I joined Steepster many moons ago. I guess I’ve been sipping old favorite teas. Nothing new really to add to this tea, other than it is still delicious but it is such a light brew! It looks like an oolong or green tea… that is how light this black tea is! The flavors are what is important here anyway. So sweet with brown sugary goodness. It really is a tea I’ve never had anything like before. I really hope Della Terra doesn’t change too much, if they actually do return. I’ll be missing so many blends! I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter OR just a great day in general! I’m always wishing the best on the Steepsterers!

I’m not much of a fan of pineapple, of any sort, fresh, canned, juice etc. But I love Della Terra, so I definetly wanted to try this.
I received it in a swap from chukie.

This smells very bakey, cakey goodness.
It steeps up much the same, so delicious. Certain teas should be made into candles, this is one. hmmmm that gives me an idea…

Anyways this is very cake like, at first I didn’t think I tasted pineapple, but on the third sips & so on I got a slight hint of sweet, tangy pineapple.

This is really great. So good. Another win!

I’m very eager to drink this tea as apparently it has a great cakey flavor. The scent is almost like a maple syrup with something in the background that’s a little like pancakes.

Sipping…. I’m tasting more caramel than anything. It’s not like other caramel teas I’ve had as this one tastes a little bit burnt. It’s almost like burned caramel with maple syrup drizzled on top. Ew.

I’ve never had pineapple upside down cake so I’m not sure what this tea is supposed to taste like.. I really don’t taste much pineapple at all and I’m disappointed that I am tasting caramel instead of cake. It’s certainly drinkable, but the flavor is getting to be overwhelming.

Kittenna

This one is quite powerful, IMO, and tasted to me like heavily caramelized sugar (which is reminiscent of the lovely edges of pineapple upside down cake to me). No pineapple though.

Meg

This one reminded me of caramel corn! I was disappointed that I didn’t taste any pineapple :(

QueenOfTarts

I wish it was a bit more than burnt caramel for me. I’m glad that I’m not the only one who didn’t taste pineapple!

it’s great how Eva actually read my mind and that i was curious about this tea when she mailed me our swap!

i think i’m gonna have to order a little sample pouch of this. i always love a black dessert tea from della. but i don’t think i had enough leaf to really immerse myself in the flavor the way i usually like to. at least not the way that i drink tea hahaha. BUT i still have the satisfaction of checking this tea off the list!!
i know there are a handful of you who know what i’m talkin about…. :)
bloop.

Sil

…can i just send you my package?
