Fruits of Paradise

Still good despite its age! Just a touch on the soapy side, but otherwise really deliciously fruity, coconut/pineapple/tropical.

I love this fruity green tea when I’m not feeling my spicier or sweeter blends. It’s delicately balanced with flavours of pineapple and coconut, and a bit of a sour kick. I’m so sad that DAVIDsTEA discontinued this, I haven’t found another fruity green with the nice sourness that this one has — Pura Vida simply doesn’t compare.

So, I don’t really remember drinking this one. I think it was generically fruity/sweet but ultimately really forgettable. Boo.

A nice summer cup. Not too artificial like some of David’s fruity teas can be.

I am not sure about this blend. It does have a very tropical flavor with the coconut and pineapple. The soursap does seem to have given it a very sour element. To me it seems a little overly sweet and overly flavored in general. I think it would have been better with some more green tea and slightly less fruit. I’m not overly fond of it. Slightly reminiscent of Fruit Stripe gum. I will try steeping it for a shorter duration next time. May need to try this as a cold brew someday…

Got a sample of this tea in my latest DT order and while I know what a soursop is (thank you Amazon Trail) I’ve never eaten one. They do sell soursop juice at my local Superstore, maybe I should try it and see how the flavours compare. I love the delicious tropical, fruity scent of the tea – it’s like pineapple mixed with the ripest, juiciest strawberries. The flavour is a bit of a let down because while I do get a flavour similar to the scent there’s a strange, artificially sweet aftertaste like stevia – even though there’s no stevia listed in the ingredients. It was a fun tea to try but I don’t think I’d buy a full pouch of this blend.

This tea smelled very fruity, but when steeped was disappointing. It was very sour and had a bitter ending flavour. We actually received two jars of it for a gift, and we returned the second one. It tasted off to us.

This tea smells wonderful and tastes wonderful too. I brewed it for 3 minutes double strength and poured it over ice. Yummy. Can’t wait to enjoy summer iced tea drinking with the help of this tea among others of course!

This tea has a really interesting aroma – I’ve never tried soursop in anything and I think it’s a new smell for me. I’m not sure that I really taste the soursop in there once brewed though. Maybe a bit, there’s a light tanginess. The pineapple and coconut come through most prominently creating an enjoyable tropical flavour.

This one smells much nicer than it tastes. I’m usually excited for anything that lists coconut and pineapple thinking it might come close to the delicious Pina Colada Tea that David’s briefly had a number of years ago. And to my nose it smells like it could be a sweet tropical mix. Unfortunately when brewed it’s mostly a pineapple flavor and not even a very nice one. I would describe it as being very much like underripe pineapple, probably due to the soursop giving it the bitter and tart flavor. I don’t think it’s horrible and would actually welcome a pineapple flavored tea but this one is just a twinge too sour and I don’t think it’s special enough that I would repurchase.
