247 Tasting Notes

There was just enough for a tasting of this one left. I’m still trying to branch out from typical flavored blacks and this one was interesting to say the least. It’s very savory, with heavy sweet potato notes. I’ll have to hunt down some more samples of Ruby 18 – this one intrigued me.

I picked this one out because it looked to be a hibiscus, berry based tea. It isn’t (though I could swear there’s some hibiscus to this blend.) There’s some citrus and floral tones and it’s surprisingly good hot. Supposedly there is rose and chamomile; both of which are flavors that I’m not fond of. But overall I really like this one, I’ll have to add it to my end of the day/sleepytime tea collection.
Flavors: Citrus, Floral, Honey

I’m not in love with this but I don’t hate it either. It’s tart, there’s definitely a layer of hibiscus in this one and the blueberries are the star player. But there’s also some creamy notes, a little bit of baked bread/pastry, and I am picking up the caramel (how come I can’t find a tea that tastes like caramel but I can find the notes in teas that I don’t want to taste like caramel??) I might hold on to this simply because there’s only enough for one or two more cups and maybe by then I’ll be able to decide if I like it or not :P

I steeped some of this this morning and I really enjoyed it hot, it had a mild strawberry taste and the same puerh flavor I get from David’s flavored puerhs… which I like. Unfortunately, as it cooled the strawberry flavor became an undertone and the puerh shone through. Great if you like puerh, but I don’t. I’ll have to give this one another try and finish the cup before it cools.

I had this one last night. There was only enough left for two cups and you better believe I had them both. I really loved this one which surprised me because I’m not a big fan of fig and I usually hate rose. I’ve already forgotten what flavors this had to it but I did really enjoy it. Definitely going to keep a look out if I ever buy from Teavana again.

I’m not sure if this is the same Apple Cider tea that David’s has this year but I like this one. It is a little artificial/candy flavored but I’m not mad. It still tastes more like apple cider than apple juice which makes me happy. I’ll be taking this one out of the box to fill the hole in my collection where Celestial Seasonings’ Caramel Apple Dream once was.
Quick edit: if they wanted this to really be more like cider, it’s missing those cinnamon and clove notes I crave in cider.
Flavors: Apple, Apple Candy, Artificial, Sweet

This one has been in the back of my mind but I decided over the summer that I wouldn’t be buying any more tea for the rest of the year….. that didn’t happen but I was adamant of that when this was on the shelves in Davids. I’m so happy there’s a few teaspoons of it in the box.
I had this cold. It’s vaguely creamy with heavy hibiscus but it isn’t sharp/clean feeling in my mouth (not a bad thing) I’m not really getting the rhubarb flavor to this but I am getting the berry/strawberry flavor which is what I was looking forward to. I noticed in the flavor profile beetroot is mentioned and I do get a liiiittle bit of that flavor. Overall, this one is surprisingly delicious.
