I have drank many types of rooibos because they are caffeine free but I chose this for a tea that I could use as desert at night and the no caffeine was a bonus. I figured as a fan favorite it would be obsolete in regards to its taste but I find it to taste more like piece of angel cake that has been toasted around some wood. While that taste is not nasty, it is not the kind of sweetness I was looking for. I’ve tried steeping this about six different ways I am not finding it to be any better than other desert rooibos that I have had.

My first and favorite roobois.

I love everything about it, from the taste to the smell. It is a definite pick me up tea for those days where a little extra is needed to get out of bed, both physically and mentally.

Books recommended for this tea are:
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender ,
Beautiful Maria of My Soul, Oscar Hijuelos, and The Tiger’s Wife
by Téa Obreht

This tea is happiness in a cup. Smells like birthday cake, looks like a party and tastes like caramel cake. I’m in love. If you are looking for caramel without tobacco or smoky notes, try this.

This tea saved my day. Thanks NayLynn and Brandon! I swear I tried 5 different tea samples today and nothing hit the spot at all. I think some of the samples have gotten old and they just were off. I then decided I had to have a “happy” tea, something to make me smile. And this was perfect. :)

Today at Weight Watchers the scale showed me up a pound :( so I have to really push myself to have my lovely dessert teas instead of all the seasonal treats. It’s so hard….. I know a pound isn’t much but I don’t want to let it start going up after finally reaching my goal. I lost more than forty pounds and cookies are not going to tell me what to do!!!

Kittenna

You can do it!! :D

Fjellrev

You know know, it could be water retention. Just keep going! I know, I can get really discouraged when I put so much into weight loss and you plateau or even gain when you’re trying so hard, but it’s all about the willpower.

carol who

Willpower? What’s that? ;-p
Thanks!

Fjellrev

Haha yeah, sometimes the willpower tank is running on low, especially when you’re at it for so long. :)

This tea tastes exactly like birthday cake. I added two spoonfuls of sugar to it (just regular spoonfuls of standard sugar, nothing fancy) and with the great health benefits of Rooibos, it’s great to enjoy on a nice afternoon-or any time of day when you’re feeling like birthday cake!
