Cinnamon with a zingy sweetness. Green tea gives a thicker mouthfeel to the overall brew but still very thin-tasting (as an herbal) and flavours are faded.

It’s one of those weeks at work where I am so busy that my desk is buried under a mountain of paper so massive, people are actually noticing it. And my lunch has been getting later and shorter every day lol. Nonetheless, I will persevere and hopefully get everything done. Haven’t had much tea these past 2 days, but this is in my travel mug this morning, hoping to make something else this afternoon, this one is getting pretty old after sitting all morning lol. This tea smells wonderfully of cinnamon. Unfortunately, there’s not nearly as much to the taste as I would like. It’s… mildly cinnamonny? But doesn’t really pack much of a flavourful punch of anything, just a mild sweet-spiced something. So it’s… not bad, but not strong enough to even be in the contention for very good or great.

Day 12/24 of 24 Days of Tea

I’ve had this before, so I knew what to expect. The main taste is spices, especially of cinnamon. It’s kind of a weaker chai-green tea, so it doesn’t bother my stomach :). However, as a preference I prefer my greens to be straight or jasmine, so I don’t care for this as much. I p[refer for the green tea leaves to be the “star” of the tea, not spices or other ingredients.

Woohoo! I think we felt about the same on this tea.

When I first tried this tea, I thought that it was the bees knees. But after a full cup of it, I retract that statement. There is something in this tea that is oddly sweet, but it doesn’t jive well with the rest of the chai-like ingredients. If you’re looking for a DT chai that has a lighter body, I’d probably suggest Chai on Life instead. This one just doesn’t have that je ne sais quoi.

Has it really been almost a year since this was released? It’s so, so good. I think I need to coldbrew this and see what happens because I love this tea hot. It’s cinnamony and while I don’t get much orange, that’s okay. I love the cinnamon burn.

Haha I kept passing this one up assuming it would taste like nothing but cinnamon.

Dry Leaf Nose: A definite spiciness, complimented and enhanced by the sweet orange notes.

Liquor: Golden liquor with a nice, zesty spiciness.

Flavour: Our take on the classic Orange Spice tea. A perfect balance of cinnamon and cloves, without allowing either to take preference over the other. The green tea is apparent in the lively mouthfeel and the chili pepper brings a little heat to the blend.

This is one of those teas that is really easy to over steep, and when you do oversteep it, then “the spice wrong”. Allow me to elaborate…

This tea is basically a cinnamon tea, or at least that is the only thing i could taste. Since it has this extremely strong cinnamon flavor, when it is over steeped the cinnamon becomes REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY strong.

While I was out with one of my friends one day, I was drinking this tea and I had over steeped it by accident. Every time I took a sip I made this face that he referred to it as the face of someone who just took a sip of pure whiskey.

My point is, just steep it for 1-2 minutes and you’ll have a lovely balance of spice that is just right ;)

I feel so derelict in my tea note schedule! We have had such a chaotic couple of weeks, I cant believe how little time I have had! I tried this tea last weekend when a friend gave me a cup’s worth. I didn’t think it would be a hit with me, turns out I was right. It was drinkable when hot, but the minute it cooled down and the cinnamon really came out… Count me out. If you like cinnamon and it’s natural sweetness, you will love this. To me, it was far too cloying for my tastes. I liked the tea better when it was piping hot and the orange zest was more dominant. So, not a winner in my books, but that’s alright, there are more than enough teas for me to love in this world already!

It’s a nice tea to have in your collection if you like the taste of cinnamon sticks. That’s about the taste you’re gonna get, along with a slight clove flavor. It’s good enough to buy again. I would’ve liked more of the orange taste, though. I thought it was gonna be present but mehh..
