Cheeky Lychee

Guess floral teas just aren’t for me because this one’s still too floral. Oh darn. A nice smooth tea overall.

No sir. I don’t like it. Well….I don’t hate it. It’s alright, but I think it is a bit floral for me. I’m having a little deja vu with The Earl’s Garden, though not as much with this tea. I could conceivable finish my 15g bag, but I won’t be re-steeping unless I am making an iced tea. I might swap it with something else. I am gonna see how the Cranberry Pear is and decide. I might mix the two. I think I will like that better. I tried this black, but then added milk and sugar, and that is a help.

This is my second tea from David’s. This smells very strong! I have a commitment to trying just about every lychee flavored thing out there. Steeped I’m getting rose soap. Maybe a good thing, maybe a bad thing?
At first these sips are highly aggressive. Total, full on rose soap. There are some hints of lychee hidden in there. But it is pretty hidden. I think that this could use a tune up.

I had thought that lychee would be a difficult flavor to infuse into a tea, but remarkably there is a distinctive lychee note at the end of each sip. Impressive! Unfortunately, I’m finding that the floral notes are a little too strong for my taste, bordering on perfume-y. The scent is all floral, and the first part of a sip is floral through and through. It fades into a lovely lychee with a basic black tea background, though, so it isn’t undrinkable.

I love a good floral herbal tea, but I’m wary of floral blacks. This one is a good example of why. If only the fruit and flowers were more balanced, I could be a fan of this. As it is, I think I’ll finish what I have and pass on it in the future.

Hmmmm… I’m having a hard time making a decision about this tea. Do I like it? Do I not like it?

Part of me is completely put off by the overly-floral smell. With every sip I have to hold my breath it’s that overwhelming! Once I get past that though the tea isn’t bad: a nice light black tea, not heavy or thick, but can come off as soapy if I smell it while drinking. The smell… ugh…

{backlogged review}

Bought 10 grams of this one. And regretted about 8 grams of it at first sip. It is the one and only time I’ve actually spat out a tea, which is sad since I do enjoy lychee. This one though just seems to taste fake and . . . not soapy but a similar taste tingle on my tongue.

Never ever touching this one again, no matter how much someone tells me it isn’t that bad.

While I have to say I liked my first steep of this one, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. I was so excited that Davids was bringing out a Lychee flavored tea, so its dissappointing to not be in love with this one right away – maybe it will grow on me.
Anyways, if you don’t like rose at all, stay away from this one – lychees are prepared in a rose scented/flavoured syrup which comes out as one of the most prominent flavours of the tea. The black base is slightly more acidic than I would expect, but it does balance out the rose tolerably well. I definitely oversteeped and needed some agave and almond milk. I’m planning on playing around with the preparation to see if I can fine one that I like.

I purchased this because I like the blooming lychee, I do like floral teas, and it was on sale!

sad life, it almost tastes like potpourri, I need to play around with this tea, Im not giving up on this. Yet Im probably only saying that because I have 250g of it.
Damn my tea taste is so different from my normal appetite

I love lychee and have been trying to find this tea for months! Everywhere I have gone, they have said that they don’t carry it anywhere due to the high cost of the fruit…‘Challenge Accepted!’

I finally found this one and picked up 25g (not knowing if I would ever find it again!) I liked the smell of the dry tea (really fruity)however, I find that once steeped, it definetely becomes a more floral tea. I also found the taste to be quite floral aswell. I dont think that I liked it as much as I had expected to however, I definetely will reccomend to pick up a small amount to try if ever you are lucky enough to find it!

I just recieved a small amount of this oldie to try. So I made myself a hot cup – and it’s really good. I can actually taste the lychee fruit in it, and I like the flavour. Other than that, it’s a really fruity black tea. Wish I had more of it…
