Bad colds require great interventions. Take this tea, for example. It’s a deliciously soothing mix of peppermint, juniper berries and orange peel. Pretty great, right? If that’s not extreme enough for you, you could try eating raw garlic, or gargling salt water, or inhaling lots of steam. Yeah…we didn’t think so. Probably better just to stick to the tea. With its soothing citrus and mint aroma we can’t guarantee miracle results, but at least we can guarantee it tastes great. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Organic: peppermint, juniper berries, orange peel. With natural eucalyptus and orange oil.

I typically only drink this one when I’m feeling sick. My husband then gleefully forces a cup of it into my hands. Lately, however, I’ve wanted more mint, so I made this one willingly today. While the eucalyptus is usually the most intense aroma, I’m getting more of the mint in today’s cup. Maybe it’s just getting older, and some of the flavors are fading into the background. I do like it better than I remember, so I’m happy with that.

Surprisingly good warm, but gets way medicinal when it gets cooler.

One of the best teas I have ever had. I know a lot of people don’t enjoy the flavour, but if you’re into peppermint/eucalyptus scents you will love how soothing this one is!

I opened my bag of this the other day and I’m pretty sure the smell alone cleared my sinuses.

Despite my best attempts to stop this cold from coming on, the little runny nose I’ve had in the evenings the last few weeks has reached my throat, and I’ve been bone exhausted, so I’m taking today off work to rest, hoping the extra eight hours of sleep can make some difference from it getting worse. I resurfaced from bed for lunch and while not particularly hungry I am thirsty and since I had my hibiscus/ginger tea this morning, I wanted something different now. I found this sampler that I believe I received from a cupboard sale from Ost, so thank you Ost! Seems the perfect time to try it out, so I made a small pot and grabbed an apple and peanut butter for my lunch to go with.

Brewed up, it is the tawny brown color of the peppermint base, and has a minty aroma as well. The flavor is minty, but has a fresh pine note from the juniper berries, and a very brisk, menthol quality from the eucalyptus. I’m not picking up the orange citrus in the blend against the strong mint, though. The juniper is definitely the standout of this being “just another mint tea” as I really like that flavor and don’t feel it is utilized enough.

Ya, juniper berry is a bitchin ingredient. Have you had that August Uncommon tea you sent me, A Field in Innsbruck? I love the use of juniper in that blend! Hope your cold passes quickly. There’s been a 3-day cold circulating around here for several weeks. I had it and took one day off. Back to normal a few days later.

I opened this tea a month ago, and as soon as I smelled it I was like nope, gotta wait until I’m actually sick for this one. So hurray (kind of?) that I finally get to try this. The smell of the dry leaf is definitely stronger than the steeped tea. There’s a mint flavor that cools your throat, but other than that, I don’t notice much other flavor. I prefer Throat Coat when I’m sick. This one doesn’t actually make my throat feel better.

Kind of a weird one to review, as it’s made for 1 purpose (but boy howdy does it work!). Strong flavors of Eucalyptus and Peppermint, almost tastes like liquid Vicks. Added a little honey on my second cup and it dulled the stronger flavors perfectly.

Clears the sinuses and soothes the throat, can’t recommend it enough for what it does, but flavor can be a little strong.

I’ve found this very effective for sore throats, but don’t enjoy the flavor enough to drink it when I’m not sick. It’s not terrible, but there’s something a bit medicinal about it.

First off, I will not give this tea any rating for the simple fact that I personally find it disgusting.

That said, it is one of the most perfect sick tea I’ve yet to find. And yes, I am sick. Suffering from bronchitis with all the oh so not lovely symptoms that comes with. After a day of almost bathing in the darn thing, I had my first restful sleep and, this morning, I could breathe a bit easier. Is it because of the tea? I don’t know but I am willing to do anything for some relief so if I have to continue to brew this not so good tea, I will!

Such a strong taste of menthol, that is all I taste. I had forgotten about this tea, and I think I will push it back in the far reaches of my tea cabinet, I am not a fan of this tea.
