Coco Chai Rooibos

This has officially become my favorite tea ever. It’s a beautiful sweet and spicy chai. Very bold, and even more yummy. I let it sit for the maximum of its recommended steep time and added almost a whole pack of stevia to 12 oz. Perfection.

Love this. Love this. Love this. I got some in a trade with one of my lovely friends…I’ve been on a quest for a good chai for a while, and I was looking for something that, ideally, didn’t have caffeine. This has the most perfect blend of spices—the smoky peppercorns, the cardamom, the cinnamon that doesn’t taste like red hots (I’m lookin’ at you, Cinnamon Rooibos Chai), and the coconut, which takes it over the top and makes it reminiscent of Adagio’s Thai chai (but a caffeine-free version). I can even get two steeps out of this one—the second one I usually drink straight up (the first one is generally with soymilk).

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Also, nothing clears up a cold like this one. I’m almost out…

got some of this in the 24 days of tea and put off trying it because i was tired of rooibos. finally felt like trying something different, so this was the second cup of the day.
the rooibos flavour isn’t strong, just gives a nice light base for the delicate chai flavours. and they are delicate. the peppercorns leave juuust a little bit of tingle after the first few sips.
overall a different, refreshing decaf that i’d definitely consider buying more of

I love chais for their added spininess to teas. This one is so good because it is smooth with a little bit of sweetness added to it.
I enjoy this one without any added sugar.
The cocunut is a welcomed addition to add the smoothness to this great chai

Normally I make chai myself, and I’ve never liked the pre-packaged versions.
This one though is an absolute exception. A tasty caffeine free option. I really enjoy this tea.

I drank this with a touch of agave syrup and milk. The taste is nice and smooth, with a bit of bite near the end because of the peppercorns. There’s also a slight smooth sweetness that lingers for a little bit.

This is the first rooibos I’ve had and liked – I tried it because it was being given out as a sample.

Now that some rainy weather has set in, I’m pretty much in fall mode and gearing for the nice cold nights by the fire… (did I mention I am a fall girl??)

Cozied up with a pot of this. This was graciously donated to me from someone else. They were mislead by the name and thought coco meant chocolate, but really it’s coconut. I wish it was a bit more spicy.

When you smell this, you get the sweet coconut smell right off the hop. It then blends with the other spices like the cardamom. Nothing else really sticks out right away.

When it’s brewed, it’s a light rooibus, even when brewed for a longer period of time. Immediately you smell the coconut (like the candied coconut you can buy at Costco.) Again, you don’t really smell the other notes, they kind of blend in.

I do like the taste of it, but I wish it was more spicy. I like spicy chai. I will echo that it is a good herbal chai blend though, for those days or nights where you don’t feel like a black tea pick me up. It’s still pretty cozy none the less. I probably won’t re-order it when this little bag runs out. I don’t like that it has artificial flavouring… trying to stick with teas that are naturally flavoured.

I’m not a massive fan of flavored teas….(or infusions), but this ones is actually pretty good. Its not over-powering, and it might not be that I am looking for complexity like I do in most un-flavored teas, but this was a tea drink that I could enjoy.

This is a really neat tea. I wasn’t crazy about the smell, but my friend swears by it and the David’s Tea associate said it was pretty amazing. Brewed up, it starts to smell a lot cleaner than the leaves themselves smelled. The spice and coconut are definitely present in the scent. For me, the liquor taste was all about the peppercorn. I was ready not to like it, but I love the balance!! The sweet is offset by the heat from the pepper. It is a really nice balance and a delicious cup of tea. I am new to this chai game, but the more I try them the more I am enthralled by them! I am really going to gave to pic up some soy milk to try these as lattes!

I wasn’t expecting to like this one, But it surprised me. It all goes together so well. A hint of coconut, strong ginger, and loving the kick of red peppercorns!! This tea definitely makes me want to snuggle under a blanket and do sweet nothing all day! :) this is actually my first chai tea if you can believe it! I feel like I have just discovered a long lost love!
