From 52teas

Our caffeine-free African honeybush blended with real freeze dried raspberries and all natural flavors. This blend is the complete danish in a cup: raspberries, cream cheese, even a hint of icing thrown in there.

Had this for dessert after lunch thanks to David McGeorge!=D Cheesecake flavored teas have always interested me so as soon as I saw cream cheese I knew I had to try this. The suggested amount is 1tsp per cup and at 1.5g, that’s almost a full gram less than I normally use but I want to make this last as long as possible so I’ll try that 1st then bump it up to my normal 2.25g/6oz next time.

This is my 2nd honeybush, both of which have been flavored. I really should have had plain honeybush 1st as it’s nearly impossible to tell if the honeybush flavor comes thru the added flavorings or not.

The aroma of the raw leaf is lighter than I expected, but the aroma that is there is jammy. Unfortunately the flavor is almost identical. The raspberry jam, while light, is there and i can’t decide if I can taste the cream cheese or not. If I can, it’s very light. I definitely need to use more leaf.

Unfortunately the 2nd infusion (6min) is a decent flavor (honeybush I’m assuming), but the raspberry and cream cheese are gone.

Your welcome :)

Veri-Tea

That’s a very very long name for a tea.

I’d love to try this, do you have any more? Fancy a swap?

This is another honeybush sample sent to me by the delightful Jenn!

I have a wee bit of dry, scratchy throat going on and wanted something hot and soothing but caffeine free. I don’t eat a lot of raspberry anything, but I do like raspberry filled Godiva chocolates, so I thought I would give this a go.

I steeped for five minutes. I think in future I would go a bit longer. The aroma is very berry-ish and somehow reminded me of Marco Polo. The taste is very fruity, partly from the honeybush base and partly the flavoring. I am really thinking “candy” now. I wanted it to be a bit stronger so I added a little less than a teaspoon of sugar to my 22 ounce pot. This is definitely warm and soothing. Somehow, I am not getting the cream cheese. I wonder if milk would bring that out more? But overall, a very good honeybush tisane! Thank you, Jenn!

All I really want to say is omg.

This is amazing. I love it. It’s just the right amount of sweetness, it’s got a great raspberry flavor, and HOW does it taste like tart cream cheese in my tea?! Fruity, tart, and creamy, and the honeybush is just the right sweetener it needs, at least for me.

I am actually getting hungry for a danish from the aftertaste that’s lingering in my mouth.

Got my 52Teas order Today! This was during one of the so-popular-they-had-to-reblend periods. They even were so kind as to hold of shipping for one week while I drank room into my cupboard (now that’s customer service!)

I expected a sweet fruity tea…never had cream cheese in my tea so wasn’t sure what to expect.

The tea itself is not sweet, and is defiantly predominantly raspberry. the danish / cream cheese aspects aren’t coming through and the honeybush is only adding a slight undercurrent of ‘tea’ and contrast to the berry flavor.

Post-Steep Additives: 1/2 tsp German rock sugar

The German rock sugar seems to bring of the cream cheese flavor. I definitely think this tea needs to be steeped with sweetener.

Not so sure I’d get it again, but I will enjoy this bag.

AmazonV

Resteep: 2 zarafina cups, 1 tsp german rock sugar, herbal-loose-string setting = weak, barely a raspberry scent, weak watery raspberry flavor. even the tea was a lighter translucent yellowish

Jillian

52Teas teas don’t resteep well I’ve found.

AmazonV

I am also wondering if i should go with common standards (1.5 tsp/6 ounces) as opposed to what the zarafina wants

With a name like that you would expect it to be super sweet. It isn’t. Most of @52teas have a great smell. This one does not have a very strong smell at all. What it lacks in smell it makes up in taste. It’s a very mellow tea, you can really taste the cream cheese.

Not the best Honeybush tea I have tasted but defiantly one to try.

Label says steep for 4-10 minutes but I would recommend 4 max.

This is promising, I bought some of this and was worried it would be a bit too sweet for me. I can’t wait to give it a go.

Cofftea

Cream cheese just might be the most unusual flavoring in tea I’ve seen yet.:)

Southern Boy Teas

Even more unusual than bacon? Huh.

We’re working on a peanut butter and jelly tea. How’s that for unusual?

Ricky

Bacon sounds like lapsang =P

Ummm, this one did sound interesting…. maybe my next order? Why must you tempt me Frank. I think I’ll have to unsubscribe from the New Tea emails.

Cofftea

52 teas, GREAT IDEA! How about lox and cream cheese?

Ricky, bad idea… that means no more free tea. :-,(

Southern Boy Teas

Ricky, in addition to the Maple Bacon that started as a 52teas tea, we also now have Smoky Bacon, which has an all lapsang base. They are both now available exclusively at their new home http://www.manteas.com (and yes, I will be adding them and the other Man Teas to Steepster soon.

You know I could have sworn that I’d already written a tasting note about this tea, but clearly I’m mistaken.

A longer steeping time seems to do well for this particular blend. It’s a pleasent mix of the lightly sweet honeybush and tart raspberry – and it actually is raspberry not hibiscus in disguise. The cream cheese flavours are more subtle but they’re in there, hanging out in the background, and they’re particularly noticeable as the tea cools off.

I think this tea is a great end-of-the-day blend for when I feel like something a little sweet but without the caffeine or calories.

I had a similar experience yesterday. Funny how the mind can play tricks.

Thank you again for sending me this little treat Courtney of Little Mew Brew found on Tea Trade.

I am trying this for the first time and just the sound of it had me waiting for the mail to show up. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. I really didn’t taste raspberry just a slight unidentifiable fruitiness. The cream cheese gained strength the longer it cooled. However, I was looking for more of a balanced cup with an obvious raspberry favor. Still not terrible just not what I expected. I do feel fortunate to have tried it none the less and maybe with further steeping experimentation it will improve.

This came in my fire sale package, courtesy of iHeartTeas

I was intrigued by what a blend like this would taste like, so I had to brew it up. It’s not bad, really. I can definitely taste the raspberries, and I think I taste a little bit of cream .. but not much. It’s definitely not a bad tea at all, and very nice for the nighttime when I don’t want a lot of caffeine. I bet this would even better with some sweetner and/or milk to bring out the flavor, but I’m too lazy to try that tonight. Luckily, Rachel (not me, the other one) gave me lots of tea to experiment with, so I shall live to resteep another day ;)

I really like the raspberry taste in this tea but as others have mentioned I would have liked to have had more of the cream cheese part. It’s perfect for this time of the evening when you need something sweet and don’t want the caffeine.

Thanks Erin! For all the wonderful teas you sent me.

Nice. My first cup was steeped for 4 minutes and I found it to be a little too light on flavor. 6 minutes was perfect for me. My 13 year old brother had a cup of this, his first loose leaf experience d’awwww.

Cofftea

Awww! What did he think of it? Of all the different tea flavors I’ve seen, I think cream cheese just may be the strangest!

Samantha

He loved it! Of course he loaded it with sugar and whole milk…..but the fact that he asked to try it is good enough for me. Cream cheese as a tea flavor is definitely weird, which is why I bought this. I’d love to drink a cup with a real danish.

Ricky

Getting him into tea early ;), that’s the way to go!
