For the 2nd Tea of Christmas, 52Teas Sent to Me This Chestnut Cream Cheese Danish Green Tea!

52Teas has made a few “Cream Cheese Danish” teas throughout the years. I wanted to add Chestnut to that list, mostly because I felt like the sweet, nutty flavor of chestnut would work well with the creamy, tangy note of cream cheese. I’m really thrilled with how this one turned out!

Sweetened with milk, this is desserty and pretty special. The flavor is decently chestnut-like. I’m really enjoying this as a dessert tea! It even tastes sort of toasty – I’m impressed with this one! I wish I were organized enough to try my advent teas earlier in the year so I could have ordered more!

I really enjoyed this blend, I love nutty green teas so it was a nice treat, I did taste more of a cookie or cakey flavor rather than a cheese danish but I don’t mind at all

12 Teas of Christmas- Day 2

This does smell quite nutty, but I’m getting a maple aroma and flavor that isn’t my favorite.

Adventaggedon Day Fifteen – 2/6

One thing I’m always grateful for when it comes to 52Teas is the balance that Anne strikes between just “generally delicious” concepts and blends that really lean into the festive nature of this time of year.

I liked this more than excepted. It was pleasantly smooth with a light to medium bodied flavour of sweet chestnuts. Reminded me a little of the chestnut cream crepes you get at the market here in Montreal more than a danish. I think that’s because it was creamy but also just a smidge maple-y and also missing the “tang” that you’d get from a cream cheese danish. Definitely baked good/dessert vibes here in a not overly cloying way, though!

Yum! This is so light and pleasant and creamy, with the chestnut coming through on the back of the sip. Very tasty!

2nd Tea of Christmas 2022

I was a little concerned, because the green tea smells vegetal under the scrumptious chestnut cream aroma. However, while it still is vaguely vegetal to taste, the flavouring all comes together once steeped up and allowed to cool. It’s so buttery and creamy; that alone gets me onboard. The chestnut flavouring is merely the icing on the cake – along with the actual light cream cheese flavour, of course!

Now, I’m off to immediately try out a second steep.

Steep Count: 2 – the second steep is good too. The cream cheese seems to pop out even more; possibly, because of the short length of the first steep?

Flavors: Butter, Chestnut, Cream, Creamy, Nutty, Smooth, Sweet, Sweet Potatoes, Tangy, Umami, Vegetal

I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed this one. I was really happy that it came out the way I wanted it to. (There’s always just that little apprehensive fear when it comes time to test a tea!)

Yes, it’s a hit here! :)

I’m glad this is a green tea, because if it were on any other base I would have had to break my no-buy instantly!

Our 2nd Tea of Christmas

I have been looking forward to this cup. This is the first tea that was complete & packaged up as I worked on the 12 Teas of Christmas box – so it was the first tea that I tested. So it’s been a while since I last tasted it! I really enjoyed it – but since I have been tasting a lot of teas over the last 3 months while working on the 12 Teas of Christmas as well as the regular monthly teas, I haven’t had a lot of time to just sit back and brew a cup of tea that wasn’t part of a taste test – you know? So it’s been nice to be able to sit back (at least for a couple of minutes) and enjoy the teas I made for this box.

I really enjoy the way the flavor of the cream cheese (vegan, of course!) plays with the smooth, nutty flavor of the chestnut. It’s a really pleasant cuppa!
