drank Turmeric Ginger by Rishi Tea

i had this tea at a local restaurant called Cous Cous. it was loose leaf tea served in a small glass teapot with an internal basket. licorice root, orange peel, turmeric and ginger. an Ayurvedic tea with traditional therapeutic health properties. it was a great warm tonic to enjoy during lunch and was a warm earthy contrast to my summery cranberry & mixed green salad.
with the added notes of lemongrass it wasn’t too spicy or too sweet. a great balance and i would gladly have this tea again.

This was really too spicy for my taste—my sample was really heavy on the powdered ginger and turmeric. But I noted at the time I tried it, it would be great for cold & flu season—will clear out your sinuses!

had this cup with a vegan burrito at harrison street cafe.
pretty delicious! sweet and fruity and tart. a little too tart for me personally, but i also let it brew too long while i was eating. i bet the second brew of the bag would have been exactly right for my tastes. perfect summer tea. i will be drinking much more of it in the months to come i’m sure.
Meghann M below says that this tea “smells of tart citrus, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice” and she is exactly right.

i do not like this tea. i can’t even think of a good thing to say about it. i’ll drink what i have. maybe my opinion will change. but for now i just don’t like it. ploppers.

nevermind. i gave it to my sister, or as she put it, “here you throw this away”.

one of my go to favorites! i buy most tea loose these days, but this one i still purchase even though it comes in teabags. i don’t generally like cinnamon or spicy type teas, but this one has a great balance of sweetness and kick. sweet orange and very light warm cinnamon. though i try to keep lots of variety in my cabinet, i will regularly drink at least one cup of this tea 5 days a week.
as opposed to a digestion tea, i prefer to think of the lost in “get lost” as this is a tea for a wanderer’s heart or an adventurer’s spirit.
