This is billed as a breakfast tea and boy, is it ever. Strong, tannic, very British. Must have cream. Sugar if you like and there you are, in a British kitchen! Not many nuances here and a good bit of tannin
Smells like raisins, flowers, grain and chocolate. Very smooth, dark, heavy, bright with an almost harsh edge, which cream takes care of nicely. Next time I will use a bit more tea and brew it a bit less.
The Monkeys needed more training. Dry it has a lovely, almost Yunnan aroma, but the brewed tea is ho-hum. It is smooth and sweet and kind of subtly Yunnan-ish, but it is nothing special
Umm, tasty, warming, cozy. Enough cinnamon to do all that, then the apples adding to it, with the lemon grass and rosehips adding a little zing. Very nice.
It smelled of wine, really good aged wood, and a touch of smoke. The smoke almost disappears in the tasting, and that is of baked wheat, well-aged red wine barrels, lots of depth and heartiness, although it is quite smooth
To paraphrase an old commercial “Where’s the bergamot” A pleasant lavender tea, but not an earl grey. Phooey If the Earl was as good as the flowers, I would give it high marks, but this should not be labeled as an Earl Grey
