SPICY is RIGHT! I’m now ready to give this a rating. I had forgotten to revisit and rate after my last experience. This is INTENSE. Spicy and really peppery. It lives up to it’s name. See previous notes. Overall – a nice spicy chai tea that lives up to it’s name.
Sure…this smells like a spicy chai but the aroma is fairly even compared to the taste! WOW!!!! These spices are INTENSE! As many of you know…I drink all of my teas plain even chai but this one I might have to tinker with…add a little something…it’s STRONG! But for rating sake it does live up to it’s name and product description to a “T”. It’s a little too spicy for me by itself but it’s top quality and I think spicy chai fans will dig it. I will tinker with this one before rating…
This is AWESOME. Now, bear in mind that I don’t say that often about rooibos blends. But this one is good… really good. The nutmeg brings out the nutty aspect of the rooibos, while the strength of the spices helps to mask the unappealing aftertaste of the rooibos. The orange peel brings out some of the fruitier tones of the rooibos. It all works so harmoniously. The vanilla is sweet and creamy and wonderful. I love this! YUM!
I took this jar to work so I could start using up my collection to make room for more. I got comments all day about how good it smelled. I drank two cups today of this one. As it cooled, it seemed to get more spicy and less of the orange flavor. By the bottom of the cup, it tasted strongly of spices like cinnamon and maybe allspice? It was a nice finish that made me want another cup!
Preparation
A gift from my tea loving friend, this is the tea that started it all. It brought back memories of an orange pekoe tea my mom used to buy for me when I was younger. It was so strong when I opened it, I was unsure I would like such a thing. Brewing my first cup of this, I was amazed that it actually tasted like it smelled. It is reminiscent of Christmas in a cup.
When I first opened the package, I got very excited because it had that strong, spicy scent of the MarketSpice signature tea. But the flavor is quite a bit different. It isn’t as spicy as the MarketSpice, and it seems quite a bit smoother as well, which I attribute to the apple-y flavors.
This does taste like Spiced Cider and black tea. A really delightful cup, and makes me eager for more Autumn (we had some autumn-like weather a few days ago, and then we had summer-like heat again. What’s up with that? Quit teasing me with the autumn and just bring it on already!)
Not as flavorful as the last few times – could have been because of a shorter infusion – still a good one, tho!

This is really tasty! After a while I could pick out the Raspberry and chocolate notes but I had a few hints of sweet basil and cranberry, too, odd…but yummy…and could be because of the flavor combo but regardless I like this very much! I’ve had 4 infusions so far today! It’s smoother than I thought it would be. I like that tho! A nice change up! This is a good one for multiple infusions – it seems to get more sweet and more ingredient defined with multiples! Interesting, fun, and flavorful! I like it!
Revisiting this one before sending the rest to a friend. Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/09/01/pumpkin-pie-tea-from-marketspice/
This is really nice. The black tea is a strong Chinese Hunan tea. It is bold and a bit astringent toward the end of the sip. The ginger and cinnamon are mild but not bland. They don’t present themselves as wildly spicy, but they offer a gentle, warm kick. The pumpkin flavor is there, although I am finding that the aroma is more pumpkin-y than the flavor. As it cools slightly the pumpkin flavor is more apparent. Overall a very pleasant autumnal tea!
I’m thankful this isn’t as sweet as the other Signature Market Spice tea I tried a while back. This is a type of sweetness and flavoring I can handle! It’s much more my speed! It’s still fairly intense tho! I can taste the ‘apple’ and the spices. The spices are reminiscent of fireballs but not as intense as the other tea from before. The Black tea taste for-sure takes a back seat to the flavoring, but in this case, I like it! :)
Wow! I really REALLY like this one. Way better than I ever imagined it to be. I am usually hesitant when it comes to herbal teas because, well, they’re herbal. But, this is one that I’m kicking myself for not trying sooner. It is really good. Restorative and relaxing to sip. Sweet, creamy and delicious. YUM!
