I’m quite sad about this. This tea is ancient. I guess I ignored it in the stash, thinking it was a subpar Keemun — weaker, flavorless. BUT I had it recently and it was quite good! Perhaps it has aged well. Perhaps recent Keemun harvests have been even more disappointing than this one. Anyway, the flavor now is rich enough for me, a bit smokey. I wouldn’t say it distinctly has Keemun flavor notes, but that could also be because of time. Delicious for such an old tea that I expected nothing from. I mean… I never even wrote a note for it! But it was a nice surprise. Two delicious steeps.
Sipdown!
This is a mint chocolate rooibos. If you’ve had any of them, you have probably tasted this one. I put a ton of oat milk in it to drown out the potential rooibos and highlight the mint chocolate and it’s easily drinkable this way. It’s not great, but it’s not bad and it wasn’t what I was hoping for when I ordered it.
Preparation
Another mango tea! No one else has ever written a note for this one? I bought this a looonnngg time ago, never wrote a note. It just falls into that “generic fruit” flavor for me rather than mango. It would have been more acceptable if this was “Extreme Fruits” rather than proclaiming to be very mango. I do enjoy that a few fruits are represented here: mango, pineapple, strawberry, orange and tangerine. There is an earthy quality and then there is a very sweet quality that my mind wants to think is stevia, but it might just be the sugars on the fruit cubes. I AM always looking for nice yerba mate blends, but this one is never fantastic to me.

Sample from getanzt! I’m pretty sure I’ve had this tea from English Tea Store, and it was okay, but I’m happy to give it another try! The berry flavor is there, but it’s definitely quite fake. This is a very average berry tea. Some sips I enjoy more than others. There are just plenty of better options.
Thanks to getanzt for this one! The pear smells so ripe and juicy and authentic. The flavor matches the scent! The pear comes through so realistically and deliciously. I taste a touch of cinnamon also, but the main thing is that great pear. This is the first tea from Fusion that I would totally buy for myself. It’s such a refreshing cold tea, and the resteep is great too.
Thanks for this sample, getanzt! This one definitely tastes tropical, though I wouldn’t guess pina colada specifically. I taste coconut and some other fruit that I suppose could be pineapple. There’s also something tart in there like hibiscus, though that’s not too strong, sort of just a base flavor to fill it out.
I don’t really like lime flavoring, but it’s not terrible here when it’s cold. I might taste some watermelon too. This isn’t bad, but not for me. I think I’ve also tried this one from another company, and I like it more than I used to. Thanks for sharing this one, getanzt!
This is a little more tart than I expected. I wish they had stuck to just apple/vanilla and left out the hibiscus. It doesn’t really taste like apple at all, just tart red fruit. I also don’t taste any vanilla. This is refreshing enough cold, but not special or interesting at all. I still appreciate the chance to try it from getanzt!
Sample from getanzt! The lime is fake in a way that I don’t love. I prefer a more delicate or zingy lime, and this is a bit more tart in the orange peel sort of way. Having said that, this one did grow on me over the course of the cup. It honestly did end up being a pretty refreshing cold cup of tea. I didn’t taste much except the lime, but it wasn’t bad.
This tastes like many other cherry teas I’ve tried. It doesn’t taste like cherries specifically, more like cherry candy. It’s a bit tart. It’s okay cold, just a bit fake tasting and not that delicious, really almost medicinal. I wouldn’t want another cup, but it was still fun to try from getanzt!
This is yummy! A sweet cherry flavor. I tried it hot but I bet it would be delicious cold as well! Will definitely order a larger bag of this to try it in some different ways.
Edited to add a note for myself: not buying this one again because it didn’t agree with my food sensitivities although it was super tasty :(
Flavors: Cherry, Sweet
Smelling this straight out of the bag, it smells AMAZING. Spot on for pina colada with all the delicious pineapple, coconut, etc.
Unfortunately, it tastes more like apples and hibiscus with a hint of pineapple and coconut. After letting it sit a while, the creamy coconut starts to come through as an aftertaste. I have other pina colada teas that I prefer over this one. I’ll finish off my sample but probably won’t be repurchasing this one.
Flavors: Apple, Hibiscus, Pineapple
Interestingly, I had a similar experience with a Georgian 1847 Rolled Black Tea today. Much better than in years past! I recently began brewing with tap water (municipal well, softened & treated) because my source of alpine spring water has dried up (bare shelf at Walmart), and wonder if that has been a factor. Has there been a recent change in your water, @tea-sipper?
No, it has been the same water source than and now. Though, years ago, who knows how it has changed…
