That’s a pretty strong endorsement. I’m a yunnan gold fan and so this peaks my interest. I’ve had a fair number of golden yunnans from various places and some are good, some not, and a few really good. Emporer’s Gold from Tao of Tea is my favorite by far. I’m wondering how it compares with this one. Have you compared this one with other sources?

I have tried some other sources, Ineeka’s is really good, as is Narien’s. Both are different enough from this one such that I have a hard time saying one is “better”. I will say that I prefer this Yunnan Gold, though!

Chicagoland sure has sources I’ve not heard of. May have to check them out sometime. Thanks for the recommends!

Nice, Lainie. I have a tiny sample of Yunnan from Teas Etc. that I haven’t tried yet. I’ll look for the qualities you mention.

HAHA! “Keep Hairy Crab cool and dry away from direct sun light and other spices.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I would laugh every time I saw this tea if I had it, I think.

A nice inexpensive cooked pu’erh: Very smooth with none of the “paint stripper” quality that some cheap cooked pu’erhs can have. Whiff of the barnyard, plus a bit of chocolate. Good stuff, and the little bricks are fun.
