42 Tasting Notes
Somehow I made it onto the nice list, and Santa brought me this tea for Christmas! I am a huge fan of tart teas, and this one is definitely a kick in the taste buds. It’s got everything I love… Rosehips, hibiscus, lemongrass… Yum! It tastes like raspberry lemonade, but with an extra special flavor note from the lemongrass. My first cup was hot, but I know this will be delicious over ice in the summer! Thank you, Santa! <3

One of my free samples from Teavivre…
This tisane makes a refreshing, bright, juicy beverage! It looks like cranberry juice, and even tastes a bit like a fruit-cocktail flavored cranberry juice (but without the bitterness of cranberries). The sample pack I received made 16 ounces. I sweetened it with 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar. I’m drinking half of it hot, and I’m saving the rest to drink cold. This will probably be a go-to drink for me in the warmer months. :)

This is my first pu-erh, and I am so happy Angel picked this one out for me as part of my free sample package! The smell is of fresh, clean, wet hay. I specify “fresh” and “clean” hay because some reviewers liken the smell of this tea to that of a barnyard, but that makes me think of manure and sweaty farm animals. Strangely enough, the smell of this pu-erh reminds me of the fog machines in haunted houses. They have a particular smell that this is reminiscent of. I know, that’s very weird, but bear with me! :)
The very first odor that hit my nose when I opened the package of dry tea was “fish food.” But the smell and flavor of the tea once it’s steeped is not fishy at all. It’s actually very mellow with an earthy aftertaste. I imagined pu-erh would be very pungent and strong, but this is smooth and almost has a slight sweetness to it. I think I’m in love…

FINALLY got my free samples from Teavivre after waiting two loooong months (plus 20 minutes in the post office trying to claim it because it was sent as registered mail). I’m suffering through the tail-end of a nasty cold, so my sinuses and taste buds aren’t really cooperating right now. I most certainly should’ve waited until I can actually taste things to try this tea, but I ferociously ripped into the package like a mad woman! I’m so excited! It’s in my steeper right now. I guess this isn’t really much of a tasting note. More like a “Hey, I’m still alive and drinking tea” blurb.
Preparation
First of all, I need to address a pet peeve. Don’t give a tea a poor rating because “it’s bitter,” and then admit to over-steeping it. Good lord. Smh…
ANYWAY! This is my favorite tea from Mighty Leaf. I love it hot and iced. It’s a little bit fruity, a little bit floral with a sweet green tea base. Just an overall deliciously mellow, fruity green tea. I love it! (I’m drinking the loose tea version; Not tea bags.)
Preparation
My first rooibos, and I love it! I have the loose tea version in a little tin I found at TJ Maxx for $1.99. Instructions are to pour 12 ounces of boiling water over 1 Tbsp of loose “tea” and steep for 5 minutes. I prefer my tea strong, so I added an extra teaspoon. The liqueur is a beautiful dark amber. The peppermint flavor is definitely there. The chocolate flavor is mild but present. Althought mild, I appreciate that it tastes like real chocolate, as opposed to most dessert teas which rely on artificial flavoring to get the “chocolate” point across. This is in my top 3 from Mighty Leaf!
Preparation
I got this as a free sample in my first Della Terra order. I just don’t care for this particular mix of flavors in my tea, hot or iced. The cola flavor tastes like those bottlecap candies. I didn’t really notice a standout cherry flavor. And the cake flavor was hidden behind all the cola taste. Too weird for me. It’s going in my swap box. But I still appreciate the free sample. Thanks, Della Terra!
Preparation
I ordered a bit of this with my first Della Terra order a few months ago. I basically agree with everything you said, altough I DID find that the cherry could be noticible but only if you were extra sure you got one of the whole cherry chunks into the dry leaf used (and those were few and far betwen in my sample). Still very weird though, and with too much going on.
My least favorite from Della Terra that I’ve tried, and I’ve enjoyed all the others so far. The black tea base was weak. The artificial flavors were dull and flat. It smelled like a cheap birthday cupcake scented candle. I will not be drinking another cup of this. It’s going into my swap box, for sure. I’m still a fan of Della Terra, and this tea won’t stop me from trying their other dessert offerings. :)
Preparation
Upon first sip… Yumyumyumyumyum! Blueberry is definitely there. Maybe some other reviewers are drinking tea from a different batch because the tea I’m drinking absolutely tastes like blueberry. It doesn’t have the tartness of blueberries, but for the sake of the flavor being “blueberry crumble,” it doesn’t need the sour, juiciness. (That would be more appropriate for a fruity tea. This is a breakfast/dessert tea.) It has a cakey taste, too. And I get what some people referred to as a maple syrup flavor. To me, it’s more like artificial pancake syrup, not a true maple flavor. It reminds me of a blueberry waffle! No complaints here! :)
Sounds good!
