36 Tasting Notes
A friend of mine is VERY into coffee (http://lesvieuxtrottoirs.com/) and recently brought some of this very interesting “tea” back from London. Since I’m more of a tea lady, I asked if I could try some and he gave me some to bring home and try.
This is backlogging, and will have a cup later to give you more up-to-date thoughts.
So anyway, this “tea” is made from the dried fruit of the coffee cherry. For more information see the tea description. It’s highly caffeinated (surprise surprise) and it’s really quite interesting.
Dried, it does smell like a mixture between cherry and licorice. Very bold smells. It reminds me of a rain forest, though I’ve never actually been to a rain forest so I’m not quite sure what that means. It smells like what I would expect really lovely soil would smell.

Preparation
Ahhh. I love this tea so much. There is nothing better than a fine cuppa Yorkshire tea. A friend of a friend came to stay for the night from Sheffield and brought me another box of this and some crumpets… so guess what I had for breakfast? :] hehe
I take mine with milk, no sugar. Always steep for about 2 minutes as I find any longer is a bit too bitter.

YAAAY! So I decided to splurge and buy myself a tin while ordering my boyfriend’s mum’s Christmas present online. (shhh ;) and I got this in the mail today! SO EXCITED to try it and SO glad I decided to buy it online and not go to the Champs Elysee!
So not only do I get to try a new tea… it’s snowing in Paris and all the snow is resting on my now-dead flowers on my balcony and oh man, it’s so beautiful and I am so happy. Now let’s get this kettle boiling…
… mmm! So nice! Exactly what I needed. It’s very sweet and the caramel almost gives off a honey like taste. Even texture really! I’m not going to write too much about this because I’m getting over a pretty wicked cold and can’t taste or smell as one is supposed to. But if it tastes this nice under these conditions… can’t wait to try it when I’m feeling up to par!
So big ups to Kusmi. This tea is wonderful!

Found two bags of this while organizing my tea rack! What a pleasant surprise! :)
It smells SO strong! Other users had mentioned the smell of Fruit Loops and I totally agree. Holy crap. Almost smells too strong.
The taste is very lemony, not too much chamomile so I’m a little bit disappointed. It’s quite subtle, despite the fact that the smell knocks you off your feet. I kind of wish that the strong smell would mean a bit stronger of a flavor.
This tea would be great if I had a stuffy nose.
Preparation
The tea smells a lot more smokey and woodsy than Yorkshire or Devonshire. It tastes a bit lighter when drank with milk. Not too bad… but not my favorite. Still brews a nice cuppa and is good for waking up.
Definitely was won over by their marketing though. The little tea dude is so cute and the tin is fantastic!
Preparation
Decided to make a soy chai tea latte with this!
I took a mystery spice/chai tea and a bag of the Sweet Chai and put them in a pot with about two mugs worth of water, heated it up, added half a cinnamon stick. I let it simmer for about 8 minutes before adding a fair share of soy milk.
I then added about a teaspoon of organic acacia honey from the market and stirred it all up!
It was really nice. Warm, sweet, spicy, flavorful. Exactly what I wanted.
Preparation
Decided to try this with some milk and a tiny bit of honey this time around.
It’s much smoother. The milk really evens out the tea. The honey does help get rid of that slight bitterness from before but might make it a little too sweet for me. It almost even overwhelms the tea. Bummer.
Next time will just add milk.
