This one is q very floral hong cha, at times it even reminds me of Wu Yi oolongs in its floral and toasty notes as well as liu bao with
its nutty and bitter touch. Nevertheless, it is very clearly a black tea with very tender leaves and lots of hair.
Dry leaf aroma has strong woody notes of sawdust and sweet hay note. More subtle scents of herbs (sage) and meat feature as well. From the wet leaves, I get hints of apples, celery root, candies and forest floor blending into quite an earthy mix overall.
The taste is floral, herbaceous, spicy and warming. There are flavours of aloe vera, cardamon, nuts, and conifer forest. The lingering aftertaste brings further notes of citrus fruits and molasses. It retains some peppery spiciness and a woody, savoury character. On of the highlights of the session is the thick, round and smooth mouthfeel for sure.
