drank Rooibos & Honeybush by Pukka
1324 tasting notes

This tea came from the Pukka tea Sampler on Amazon, I was really bummed that most of the ones I wanted to try that were in the photo did not come but others came instead…. This tea required a teaspoon of honey and a dash of soymilk for me. The honeybush is coming through more than the rooibos flavor. The sweetness of the honeybush was brought out by the honey I added ironically. This tea is not one I’d purchase as it is quite plain. I’m don’t believe I ’m getting any of the licorice flavor which was surprising since licorice root tends to be overpowering.

Flavors: Honey, Rooibos, Sweet

Boiling 8 min or more 9 OZ / 280 ML

drank Mulling Spices by R.W. Knudsen

Brewed without apple juice/or cider, it has a very soothing mellow cinnamon flavor. Also is quite sweet as is without any sweetener. Just tastes like sweet cinnamon water but as someone who doesn’t like the taste of plain water it’s a perfect alternative. I thought I remembered this having a stronger taste when I’ve made it in the past but perhaps I confused it with another tea. I personally love the taste of cinnamon and can add unlimited amounts of the spice to anything but when it comes to teas that have cinnamon oil they can be too strong for me. Overall unless your buying spice bags to mix with juice to make cider, since they are pretty spendy I’d advise you to just make your own blend of herbs to steep: citrus peels, cinnamon sticks, star anise, etc.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Sweet

Have you ever mulled cocoa? I haven’t either, but suddenly it just sounded good.

I have not but how would that even work? O.O

drank Sakura Cherry by DAVIDsTEA

Old Tasting note:
I bought this tea never having had a cherry tea before so I was quite curious and hopeful. The smell is sickeningly strong like cherry cough syrup/artificial smelling. The taste is almost as bad, it tastes of cherry cough syrup without the SUGAR! I ended up unable to drink the cup and had to dump it. I still need to try cold brewing it as Roswell suggested.

Flavors: Artificial, Cherry

Preparation
1 tsp 10 OZ / 295 ML

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

This tea is best as a latte. I paired it with turmeric as it goes very nicely with this tea and has great anti-inflammatory properties. I used the Gaia herbs Golden Milk Powder which is just high quality turmeric with a bit of ginger and other spices, it is quite rich. This tea is gets very fruity and strange tasting when brewed too strong(with too much tea. it does not oversteep). It is pretty delicate when brewed normally which has me wanting a little bit of a stronger flavor. I would have rated this tea higher if it wasn’t so finicky to brew. For those of you shocked that it brews up bright pinkish red it’s completely natural from the beetroot. This is also the only apple tea that I like which makes it an extra special tea.

Flavors: Almond, Apple, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Creamy, Nutty, Spices, Sweet

This was a sample from their catalog. I Prepared with a tiny bit of soy milk and a tiny bit of honey. Sipping on this the black tea’s base is too weak and quite absent unfortunately. The flavor doesn’t make up for the lack of base either. I can taste something that resembles alcoholic flavored extracts you would use in baking. It reminds me of a very artificial amaretto flavor I’ve had chocolate that tasted like that before. I believe this must be the caramel coming through and am quite disappointed. It is slightly creamy but not nearly to the extent that the Downton Abbey Ms. Patmore’s Pudding tea is. Which is one of my favorites. I do not recommend this tea to buy as it is quite boring and the quality resembles a lower priced tea bag.

Flavors: Alcohol, Artificial, Caramel, Vanilla

Many, many years ago I was enamored with all things ROT. Not so much anymore, and I think it’s the catalog samples that killed it :) However, Mrs. Patmore’s is still a winner. (Have you ever had it with milk?)

I don’t drink cow’s milk but have tried it with Soy and it is pretty great.

drank Matcha Maker by Good Earth

Got this at a coffee shop thinking it was regular matcha and was worried when I saw it had citrus since I don’t like citrus. Although I was pleasantly surprised. I like a few of the other teas this brand has to offer and actually enjoy stevia sweetened teas unlike most people.

Tasting:
-It smells very creamy and orange-y quite reminiscent from my childhood but I cannot place my finger on it . Also the smell reminds me of orange dreamsicle bars and the flavor comes through as that also. I’m mainly just getting sweetness creaminess and light notes of orange. I’m going to have to try this another time with less water and as a latte Yum!.

Flavors: Creamy, Orange, Sweet, Vanilla

Boiling 8 min or more 15 OZ / 443 ML

Been using this tea up gradually since it’s from last year. I pretty much hate peppermint tea, this is the only one I tolerate and enjoy. The Stevia adds some great sweetness, it’s not too heavy of a mint flavor, the smoothness and creaminess really balance it out well.

Sipdown! Trying this again a bit differently. I used about 14 oz of water almost boiling used 2 perfect teaspoons. To try and highlight the flavor I added some Vanilla soymilk. Doing this completely turned around my opinion on this tea. It has a very subtle coconut vanilla flavor, it is very smooth and creamy. I didn’t care much for this tea the first 3 times I tried it. I’m so glad I finally made it delicious. Townshend’s Coconut Pouchong now has a competitor!

Flavors: Coconut, Creamy, Smooth, Vanilla
