39 Tasting Notes
I’ll preface this by saying that I have a cold, and all I want in life is warm beverages, fuzzy socks, and being a couch potato. Regardless, like many previous reviewers, I was intrigued by the ingredients in this tea. Della Terra only had a small amount of one of the other samples I ordered, so they sent me this sample for free. :) Anyway, I taste the mixture of the green and white base with some fruitiness from the pineapple. I also don’t get anything from the corn – but I am congested, so I might not be able to fully taste this tea. My throat and taste buds are happy…for now.
Preparation
Yay for dessert teas! The most prominent note I pick up in this is the caramel, especially on the second steep. The mini marshmallows all dissolved after the first steep, so they obviously can only contribute to the flavor of the first steeping. I don’t get too much chocolate flavor in this. Maybe next time I will add a little milk to this for extra creaminess. Overall, I really enjoyed this tea as a sweet evening treat.
Side note: I used my new For Life mug and Kalorik kettle I got in the mail today! I’m so happy I can control the temperature at which I brew teas now. :)
I have had this tea for a while, and it is the only white tea I have. Today I am having it iced for the first time. I guess I can’t comment much on the white tea flavor since I have so little experience with it, but the blueberry flavor is there without being overwhelming or artificial. This was refreshing on this humid summer day.
I drank this yesterday morning while packing my overnight bag. The smell of this matches the flavor. To me this has a candy-pear flavor, but I really appreciated that the pear stood on its own without other spices. Overall, this is a good pear flavored black tea.
I have had this tea for a while, but I am having it iced for the first time today. It is way too hot and humid for hot tea this afternoon. This tea has a nice vanilla flavor and is slightly creamy. I find I need a ton more sweetener with this cold than I do hot. Overall, I think this is a pretty basic, but good vanilla black tea.
This smells so good!! To me it smells and tastes more like sprinkles than cotton candy. Now that I have a bit more time, I’m trying to eat healthily again, and this will be perfect to satisfy my sweet tooth at night.
P.S. I still feel badly reviewing discontinued teas, but you never know if it might come back, right??
Preparation
I love fruit-flavored teas, and this one is no exception. I have tried several mango-flavored teas and one pineapple-flavored tea, but this one has a more complex fruit flavor than those. I steeped this at just before boiling (I was afraid of burning the green tea in this and am anxiously awaiting for my kettle to arrive). Anyway, I feel kinda bad reviewing a discontinued tea, but some may still be available for those interested.
So this is my first ever tasting note, and the first tea I tried from my Della Terra order. Oatmeal raisin cookies are my favorite, so I had to have this tea. The smell is amazing – maybe not exactly like a fresh cookie, but very warm and bakery-like. I don’t think I had a raisin in this steeping, and I couldn’t really tell if there was any raisin flavor in there. This tea wasn’t too spicy either. This will get a lot of use this fall. :)
The corn just contributes some vague creaminess, I think!
Yay! Hopefully I can taste that when I get over this cold.
