75 Tasting Notes
I was expecting a little bit of a similar flavor to Bubbly when they said it was their new grape tea but I’d have to say it’s more unique than that. It’s kind of fresh like grape juice with the round flavors of green tea playing in the backdrop to help pronounce those very subtle qualities of the fruit. It’s not too bad and would make a great iced tea. I’ll have to drink a bit more of it to say if it’d be a standard for the season . I’m still partial to the retired tea “Cherry Blossom” for that. Cheers.
A lovely alternative to Blueberry Jam if you have people who cannot enjoy caffeine. It has all the flavor of the tea without the compromise. The pineapple itself lends to the natural sweetness of the berry while the delicate flower keeps the hue of the elixir as soft as the morning sky. I could imagine strolling through a hillside of green like Gene Kelly in the musical Brigadoon, complete with the singing and dancing. I hope the tea fills you with that energy as well.
A fragrant perfume and a light flavor. It’s almost akin to the feeling when one views the blossoms on a sunny spring day. I had this tea while taking pictures at the golf course yesterday actually. Haha. It really reminded me of Southern Belle, a previous fall tea that David’s used to carry, just without the caffeine. That being said I’d recommend it for an iced tea when the weather warms up even further. Happy tea drinking.
It’s deliciously minty fresh despite not officially having a hint of it (There’s Spearmint). I am thinking that literally the name sake is what makes it so but the addition of melon probably has something to do with the extra minty quality. In the warmer months I often go to the Delta Ocean Point Hotel for their mani/pedi specials and they serve cucumber water as an option so having a tea like this brings up great therapeutic memories.
It also fit with the timing. Great choice for a Spring tea and I’d gladly recommend it for a refreshing take on the season. Have a great March everyone.
Happy New Year and hope you all had a great holiday season. First tasting note of 2014. It’s almost hard to believe how quick time passes and how some things change and remain the same. Unexpected meetings and new outlooks on life. It’s all quite refreshing and familiar all at the same time much like this special Chai.
It’s much like “Splash” with its medicinal properties and detoxifying benefits. But its new in its spicy qualities and taste of the tropics. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loved “Splash” and to any Chai connoisseurs who want to experiment with all the various types of Chai. For those back east it’s just the trick for those cold evenings, to melt the Winter ice.
As for those in the West, it keeps that mild ambiance going no matter where your journeys happen to take you. Best of all worlds, wouldn’t you agree? To conclude I raise a “Cheers” to my fellow tea drinkers and hope we continue to prosper in the new year. Best wishes!
If you liked the Red Velvet Cake you’ll love this one. It tastes very similar and has a similar aroma. What sets it apart is the pineapple and cherry notes which gives it a fresh light quality. I found a boost of energy too with the variation and with holiday season around the corner that is ever the good thing. Between decorating, gathering gift ideas and taking pictures for my photography business I can appreciate the extra boost every so often. In any case this one was a highlight of the Winter Collection for me and well recommended. Happy Tea Drinking.
It is a little bit deeper in flavor than say the toasted walnut but in the same regard it is a bit more mellow in all-around nuances that much I can admit. I would most likely recommend this as a good tea to start the day with as it is very mild and pairs well with morning toast. As a Winter tea I can imagine this making a great base for hot cocoa and as something to drink by the crackling fire with a cozy blanket just for the nostalgia this tea provides.
If we can’t have “Merry Cranberry” this is the next best thing. It’s sweet, rich and very soothing. The cloves give it this sort of nostalgic warmth while the vanilla elevates it to that satisfied dessert quality we look for in a holiday tea. In dry form, I admit to finding it worth a try, if not as a topping but as a novel addition to trail mix. Not that I do it often but it is very possible. Haha, in any case if you’re looking for that holiday pudding kick be sure to try this one.
Almost like a Winter pick-me-up. While shopping around for holiday ideas and taking some pictures of the decorations this morning I was reminded of how lovely this tea was. The heat of the peppercorns seem to elevate the flavor of the mint to a frosty quality. The white chocolate rounds out both notes with its creaminess and gives the tea a smooth quality. It’s a great way to have the peppermint bark candy of the season without the guilt and well worth trying. I highly recommend it.
I admit I was a little skeptical when I heard there was carrots in this tea. I was like “No…not Carrot Cake again.” Not that Carrot Cake was bad but it took a lot to get used to it which is probably why I still have a full harvest tin. But I digress. Slowly I approached the big old silver tin and took a sniff.
It smelled heavenly, like spice cake or gingerbread. The vanilla totally added this warm note to it that sent the tea to a sweet place where it was all good. When I finally took it home it tasted just as good as it smelt. Very gingerbread without the ginger. If I was to compare this to any other chai it would have to be “Glitter and Gold” which is probably why it was able to win me over as it did.
I recommend this highly for anyone who loves chai and the joy of the season. Thanks David for bringing this one back. Especially for those who never got to try it when it first came out. Bon Appetit.
Maybe I’ll try it if it is a sample. but the teas smells like artificial grape soda, which was a turn off for me, so I didn’t get any.
