Yours is on it’s way. I was tempted to defile the package, lol, but I left it intact.

I am very intrigued..I love pumpkin teas, and ginger is my favorite ingredient in tea usually…does this local store have a website from which you can order online? For next year haha :D

Sil 11 years ago

i don’t think so…but i fully plan on making terri buy me like 8oz next week

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

Sil, you mean next year, right? LOL

Sil 11 years ago

mrs.stenhouse12 11 years ago

Haha 8 oz?! Must be excellent tea! Lol I will have to wait before I even contemplate buying more tea..my friend has about 10 of my teas I got sent to her place and I should be receiving them this weekend, so I will have lots of tasting to do! And teas to sip down haha

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

Lena, the owner of the store has a tea blog at http://www.traveling-tea.com/
AND here’s the online catalogue

Mallory Louise 11 years ago

I work for Traveling Tea and WE HAVE SOME IN STOCK! We only make it once a year with pumpkins from one local farm, so if you want some, put in an order now. We just bought the last pumpkin of the season! Thanks for everything Terri!

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

Thank you! Is my 2nd 8oz package ready for pickup?

since i was all “let’s dig into THE BOX” to celebrate 4k tasting notes, i may have pulled out 2 of my three teas. This being the second one, since if you’re going to go crazy and dig in to THE BOX, you might as well pull out more than 1 tea. haha This tea, in case anyone is wondering, is hands down the best pumpkin tea out there. PLUS it has the added bonus of having ginger in it – which makes all teas better imo (unless they’re dessert teas) AND it’s a rooibos tea.

What’s the third tea?!

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

I’ll have to agree, it is the number 1 pumpkin tea, without a doubt. I hope she makes it again when fall comes, & I may plant pumpkins this year, & give her some to make us a bunch of it! :)

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

I only wish I still had some…sigh…

Sil 11 years ago

that would be awesome Terri.
VariaTEA – mousse au chocolate – hard to get, expensive and probably my favourite chocolate tea. that being said, i also wouldn’t want it in copious quantities either as it would fade..

keychange 11 years ago

mouse au chocolat is where it’s at, for sure.

ohfancythat 11 years ago

What’s “The BOX” ?? :)

ohfancythat 11 years ago

Oh never mind, I see below!

Sil 11 years ago

:)

keychange 11 years ago

sil, can mouse au chocolat be purchased from most mf locations? or is it one of those teas that’s like “only available in one store in the world on October 4th at 5 mountain time” offerings?

Sil 11 years ago

It’s available all the time but it’s damn expensive…you can only buy it in ether tin and it’s like 25 euro for 100g? Ie. stupidly priced and not worth it, except as an indulgence heh

keychange 11 years ago

Wow, that’s pretty expensive. Damn. Still worth it on occasion though!

Mallory Louise 11 years ago

Sil, it takes two days and several pumpkins to make less than a pound of tea. I promise you, IT’S WORTH IT!

Sil 11 years ago

Mallory – the expensive comment was about mousse au chocolat.
I adore pumpkin ginger from travelling tea. It’s not 25 euro and IS way worth it :)

Mallory Louise 11 years ago

Oh, good! I was apparently not reading carefully. My apologies!

When the hot water first hit this tea, I immediately smelled pumpkin pie filling. The taste of the brewed tea is more pumpkin chai to me. I definitely get a pumpkin flavour. I am getting cloves and a very light ginger taste. I am also getting quite a roasty or burnt flavour – burnt like caramelized sugar. I get only the slightest bit of rooibos flavour, which is a plus for me.

Definitely surprised by this one. Thanks*Terri*!

Sounds yummy…I am a pumpkin fan ;-)

Lala 11 years ago

I have to say this is the most “life-like” pumpkin tea I have tried.

Courtney 11 years ago

Pumpkin yum!

Sil 11 years ago

oh god… i need this tea back.

Mallory Louise 11 years ago

The caramelized/burnt flavor is from the sweetness of the roasted pumpkin. We only use pie pumpkins (they’re the sweetest) and we roast them prior to dehydration. No added pumpkin flavor! THAT’S ALL REAL PUMPKIN YOU’RE TASTING!

HGTTB

I was a little hesitant due to the heavy scent of spices in the dry leaf but this is amazing. This is the most true-to-pumpkin tea I have ever had and the ginger just adds an extra layer of warmth. It is like a nice hug in a cup or perhaps a cozy fall sweater. Either way it is delicious!

Sil 10 years ago

I can definitely see why this is one of your favourites!

BACKLOG: (because I totally let Sil down by not reviewing this tea when she loved it and gave me the LAST CUP of it)

What a bad tea fren. :P

I remember I liked the pumpkin flavouring from it, but the rooibosness of it bothered me a little. I think I just don’t do rooibos well in the summer but come fall and I would probably be ALL OVER IT. I will have to keep an eye out for it!

Thanks Sil!

hahaha i’m such a witch lol

Dexter 11 years ago

(I just going to keep being annoying and comment every time I see something about this tea – I would LOVE to get some of this if/when it’s reblended this fall. Please, thank you)

Sil 11 years ago

Haha dexter I will make sure you get some. Consider it payback :)

Dexter 11 years ago

Thank you – will negotiate buying some when the time comes (there’s no need for any "payback) – Why is your package “out for delivery” but yet -"Item arrived at postal facility. Item on hold. " Canada Post drives me nuts….

Sil 11 years ago

yeah it’ll come tomorrow…i won’t be home… i’ll pick it up friday lol STUPID CANADA POST

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

As I was telling Sil earlier, I spoke with the gal who makes this the other day. All the pumpkins were grown locally last year, & I told her we would want a lot of it, even if I had to roast the pumpkins myself :)

Mallory Louise 11 years ago

Dexter- we have some in stock right now! We are in the process of making our last few batches of the season; we bought the last pumpkin of the season this weekend. I suggest everyone order it now!

Ok, I know it is entirely the wrong season for this. It isn’t even on their website until October. I had Mtn Dew for lunch and thought caffeine free sounded acceptable this afternoon. First off the leaf looks like snack food. Dry this is cinnamon and clove scented. Taste while hot – throw in a little nutmeg and some aftertaste heat from the ginger. Once it cools a little I get pumpkin under all the spicy goodness. That actually surprises me. I have had a lot of pumpkin teas that got the pumpkin pie spices right but never approached actual pumpkin taste. I think all the previous teas have had a black tea base. This is rooibos. That may make all the difference. And don’t wrinkle your face, Eeeeww rooibos. You really don’t notice it in the blend and bonus it does taste of pumpkin with lots of spice. It is not pumpkin pie but it doesn’t claim to be.

I loved this one, & it’s made by a local gal, Katieri, who owns the tea company. Someone here in stl grows the pumpkins, Katieri roasts them, & then dehydrates them, or something like that.
Sadly, this tea won’t be back until Fall…sigh…

Cheri 11 years ago

I was drinking Christmas teas over the weekend. It’s all in what you’re in the mood for.

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

That’s right! Maybe I’ll drink up some of my xmas teas next!

K S 11 years ago

I think the only other holiday teas I have are my nightly Celestial Seasonings stuff. Thanks Terri for sharing this. At first I thought traveling tea meant one of those boxes you all pass around. I found the website and thought a lot of it looked interesting.

My. Favourite. Pumpkin. Tea. Ever.

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

Sil & I went through a bunch of this tea this past winter, & it was also a BBBBox tea for me, Sil, & TastyBrew. I kept going back to the store, & even got her to make an extra batch. It really is the best pumpkin tea out there, IMO.
