From Teavana

Citrusy orange, sweet pineapple and delicious apples complement and soften to a smooth perfection with luscious lavender, sage and sea buckthorn.

Zesty sea buckthorn, pineapple & orange with lavender & sage.

Use 1.5-2 tsp of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to just at boiling (208 degrees/98 degrees Celsius) and steep for 5-6 minutes. For stronger flavor, use more tea leaves. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.

Ingredients: Apple pieces, candied pineapple pieces (pineapple, sugar, citric acid), sea buckthorn berries, citrus peels, orange juice pieces, natural and artificial flavoring, pineapple chips, citrus slices, apple slices, lavender blossoms, sage

Sipdown!

I made a huge gallon pitcher of this one iced the other day. I knew that I didn’t have enough tea left for just the right amount so I dumped the rest of what I had left and kept it in the fridge for well over 24 hours to get the most out of it.

OH MY GOODNESS! The rating on this one is going waaaaaaay up! This is one of the most interesting iced teas I’ve ever had! I’ve iced this one before by pouring it over iced but cold steeped this one really shines! The sage and lavender really came out this time! That paired with the fruit is just sooooo delicious, I can’t even handle it! It’s such an interesting herb-y than fruity flavor combination! I’m ramblin so I’ll stop but omg this one is soooo good cold steeped!

Hey! How you doin?! By the way, David wrote a nice piece on iceing tea’s in the latest Verdant newsletter…did you read it? Talked about iced slushies. Very good article. Hope you’re well! WHEN are you getting your drivers license?!

Michelle

I love this one!

Ian

@Bonnie: Hi there! I’m pretty good, school is just now ending for me so I’ve been a little busy but other than that I’m pretty good! I’m going to read David’s article right now, sounds sooo interesting. And unfortunately I can’t get my drivers license for another half a year because I am the youngest in my grade (I’m only 15 still and won’t be 16 until August 20th) so I’m last in line for driver’s ed at school (can’t take it privately, it’s waaayyyy too much money)

@Michelle: This one is sooo yummy! To be honest I have no idea why I didn’t cold steep it earlier while I still had some left!

Autumn Hearth

Sigh you make me want to buy some of this just so I can cold brew it. That said I probably won’t as it always did a funny thing to my throat, made it feel all dry and filmy, I wonder if that would be different not using the hot water. I always wanted to like this tea, unfortunately there’s no way to go in and get a cup of cold brewed tea from the store.

The 13th Doctor

hey hey hey, I’m gonna suggest something really delicious right now that you might not have tried already… mix it with Jasmine silver needle or jasmine dragon pearls… You’ll thank me after you do. =D

I hung out with my mom today and were at the mall and without anything better to do we stopped in to Teavana. They were super nice today; so I decided to buy something. My mom was pretty awed by the things that she thought were “cute.” I got this tea and the Caribbean Calypso Mate. This tea is so pretty to look at and I will admit I primarily bought this to go with the melange one from Teavana to tone down the popcorn-ness that I hate. I also was able to pick up a SUPER cute teapot (16oz) at the Tai Pan store. I don’t know if anyone else has them, but they should go check. It only ended up costing me $2 after a coupon (originally $2.97). Bonus? One of my regular strainers fits in it perfectly!!!
I have to admit that I have not been keeping up with tasting notes and the like; so in the future I’m going to be more up to date.
I ate one of the pineapple pieces and it was super tasty! I’m not really understanding where the lavender in this is going. It is pretty light/non-existent in the dry leaf smell. Once steeped, the smell is slightly similar to the swiss vervaine melange. But it is only an undertone after the citrus fruityness. This is really nice! It is sweet, citrus, and lightly herb flavored. It is a pretty nice blend that I would suggest mostly as a mixer for other teas. It would be great to add bounce to simpler mint teas and rooibos.
edit I’ve had two cups of this now and I can’t tell if I’m just super tired anyways, or if this tea is making me tired. But either way, it is super relaxing!

So I wanted 3 oz of this when I went to Teavana, so I asked them for 2 oz so that they could do the whole “Oops! I poured too much” sales spiel. I ended up with exactly how much I wanted.

I love this one as an iced tea! So does my Mom. A pitcher of ths doesn’t last long.

This tea is so good. It deserves a better rating.

I’m having it with honey, and …roasted fennel I haven’t put away yet. It’s for a beet-fennel-orange salad, probably with cranberry honey.

Can you get the munchies from tea? It’s ridiculous, the way I’ve been nibbling on veggies all evening. I haven’t even had dinner – just more and more vegetables! The idea was to cook them all and then eat them with lunch for the next few days, but then I ate, umm, most of them.

Courtney

Haha! Raw veggies are the best.

OMGsrsly

I did roasted carrots and cauliflower and fennel. And I made salad. So many veggies!

Fjellrev

That sounds like such a badass salad. Raw veggies are so easy to polish off once you have them all cleaned!

I bought 2 oz of this after hearing what OMGsrsly thought of it, and I’m happy I did!

My neck is just killing me – this tension headache has just been creeping up my neck and made itself at home in my neck and this is just what the Doctor ordered.

Not that I expect it to fix everything, but this tea is just so relaxing. I love all the citrus notes, and the lavender/sage combo works. It’s very soothing and warm and.. lovely.

The only downside is that this is (like a lot of the Teavana blends) VERY heavy tea. I probably have enough to make 5 cups? (Much like DAVIDsTEA’s Spiced Fig). So I’m really happy I tried it, and I expect to enjoy it, but I’ll wait for another sale before I consider re-stocking it once this is gone.

OMGsrsly

Yeah, it’s kinda expensive. I buy it whenever there’s a sale though. Fingers crossed for Boxing Day. :)

OMGsrsly

Oh, I use 1 baking tbsp per 16oz. I don’t remember what it says to use, but that works for me.

TeaLady441

Thanks for the tip!
And I’m hoping for Boxing Day too. I should have a little money for that.

OMGsrsly

My parents might want to wait until January to give me my money, but by then all the sales will be over. Fingers crossed I manage to get something tho. :)

TeaLady441

I ended up getting a decent amount of money but I feel like I should probably just use some of it for useful stuff to make up for not working. :| Or I could buy a nice variable kettle. And some Boxing Day Tea. Or some Justea right now. /0\ Maybe I’ll split it. :P

TeaLady441

(And of course it’s Xmas money so I don’t actually have it but I’m awful for pre-spending)

OMGsrsly

(ME too!)

Stopped by Teavana again (this time one in downtown SLC; incidentally, they were also nice and non-pushy) because I really wanted a full cup of this tea unsweetened. The last time I was in Teavana I tried a sample of this that had added rock sugar, and I really liked it then, but I didn’t want to buy it without trying it unsweetened.

The name of this tea never interested me; I like citrus, but lavender is hit or miss for me (mostly miss) and sage isn’t something I seek out in a tea. But in the store I saw that the first ingredient in this is actually sea buckthorn berries! No way, I love sea buckthorn. Most people that drink this tea have probably never had sea buckthorn juice or tea before, but I have. And this is so sea buckthorn! Sea buckthorn has a somewhat appley, somewhat citrusy flavor. I love it but it’s difficult to find in the states (besides Red Leaf’s sea buckthorn matcha). I will definitely have to pick some of this up sometime.

The lavender and sage are not super present, but they do add a nice herbaceous quality and perhaps tone down the sweetness a bit, because even unsweeteend this tea is very sweet. I am discovering that Teavana’s herbals tend to be one step short of fruit juice, but they are delicious anyway. Yay for unexpected surprises and finding tasty blends where you didn’t expect it (even if it is Teavana).

Sil

interesting. for sure nothing i’d ever willingly pick up lol though i’d be more inclined to try it now haha

Stephanie

Now I want to know what sea buckthorn tastes like! Neat!

Tea #47 from Another Traveling Tea Box

This is the last tea in the box I’m trying! (Fanfares all around!)

This is a really bulky, kind of sticky blend. There’s a definite strong citrus flavor, with a sweet fruity (berry? apple? both?) backdrop, and subtle elements of sage and lavender. It starts quite bitter when hot, but as it cools, I liked this tea more and more. I’m not sure if this is something I’d order myself, but it’s strange with a depth of flavor I appreciate.

I received a wonderful surprise package in the mail yesterday, and this was one of the teas in there. I had a cup last night before dinner, and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it is! The dry blend smells sweet and savory, which is initially a little odd. While it’s steeping, however, there is a scent of warm orange juice. I was worried that it would be greasy since I’ve had that experience with other Teavana blends, but it’s not at all! The tea liquor is a little cloudy, but is a pretty pale yellow color. There is a strong citrus flavor with a very light sage finish. The aftertaste is of fresh orange and pineapple and is so refreshing! This is one of those teas that I would’ve never picked out for myself, so a big thank you to Serenity for introducing me to this delightful little tea! I can easily say that this is my favorite Teavana blend and I am already tempted to go purchase some!

-Dry blend has a mixture of dried fruit and berries with lavender petals.
-Dry blend smells of sweet oranges with a hint of savory sage. Tea liquor aroma is of warm orange juice and sage with a hint of lavender.
-Tea liquor is a cloudy pale yellow color.
-Strong tart citrus flavor with a light sage finish. Fresh orange and pineapple aftertaste.
-Best with sweetener.
-Very good tea. Fresh orange flavor with a savory note. A refreshing cup.

The name of this tea threw me off a bit. I didn’t think it would be good at all. But I was wrong! It is delicious.

The dry tea smells of candied pineapples with an orange smell. You can smell the lavender as well. You can see the candied pineapple, orange rind, lavender and sage.

The brewed tea is a yellow colour similar to pineapple juice. It smells like warm pineapple with a citrous undertone.

The tea tastes delicious. I mostly taste the pineapple and sage. There is undernotes of orange. I don’t really taste the lavender, but I think the lavender makes it very smooth tasting. This tea is making me crave ham with pineapples and seasoned with sage. Mmmmmm. Even though the tea is fruity, it is not too sweet. The balance of flavours is good, and I didn’t even think of adding any sweetener. It tastes like it would be good iced as well.

This is part of Teavana’s Blissful moments tea of the month club. Each month two teas are delivered that are good on their own, or good blended together. This tea came with peach tranquility. I can already imagine what they taste like blended together, it is going to be wonderful.

That Tea of the Month Club from Teavana sounds fun – especially if it’s herbal like this. I personally love this tea, and I wonder what it would be like paired with other teas.

Lala

They have three different clubs. I chose this one because it was herbal. That way I can experiment at night!

KeenTeaThyme

Hmm, I will have to investigate! Thanks!

Backlog from last night. This is a very sweet tea and I feel like it would make a nice refreshing iced tea. I enjoyed the first steeping of it more then the few that followed after, most likely because the sugar that they obviously added to the blend was all used up the first time through. Enjoyable though, even though I prefer plain tea.
