From Rishi Tea

Dandelion Detox is a sophisticated mash-up of traditional Chinese slimming teas and detox herb tea blends from western herbalism. Fermented pu-erh tea and oolong tea are often enjoyed during or after dim sum in Hong Kong. In Chinese, these teas are said to “cut the grease” and help the body digest rich foods. Dandelion root is an herb that is traditionally known to support detoxification. Cinnamon energizes the blend, while a hint of citrus provides quenching replenishment to restore balance.

TASTING NOTES
Roasted dandelion root provides a bittersweet cacao profile, which is enriched with fermented pu-erh and oolong teas. Saigon cinnamon simmers with sweetness, while lemon provides cleansing balance. Finishes with uplifting hints of rose geranium.

INGREDIENTS
Organic roasted dandelion root, organic lemon pieces, organic lemon peel, organic pu-erh tea, organic oolong tea, organic cinnamon, organic ginger root, organic schizandra berries, essential geranium oil.

This tea went into my swap box. I broke it out for #31daysofhallotean as the prompt was to drink a trick blend aka a tea you don’t like. Roswell Strange was kind enough to share this with me but I could almost guarantee I wasn’t going to be a fan between the puerh, dandelion, and chicory. It was essentially a combination of all things I don’t like in one mean cup. And though I hoped for the best, this met my expectation. I am not rating though because this just happens to be all things I don’t like and it seems unfair for me to tank the rating based 100% on personal preferences. Nonetheless, thank you Roswell Strange for sharing and always trying to broaden my horizons haha.

From the weekend!

Very smooth and earthy cup with a heavy roasty top notes and a slurry of warming spices in the body, with an unusual but beautiful sweet floral finish of geranium. The first time I had this blend, I completely hated it but it’s really growing on me in a super strange way. The ingredients are all things that I really wouldn’t even think to group together but this is sort of just a cup of cozy comfort!?
