2022 Sipdown 57/365!

I find it incredibly irritating that teas get renamed – it’s confusing. This, I believe, is one of three different names for the same tea – Dandelion Detox, Cranberry Dandelion Detox, and Cranberry Cheer. This baggie is from Dec 2019, with just the name “Dandelion Detox”.

Anyhow, it has a decent cranberry flavour but a little too herbally for me, and as usual, not a fan of the rooibos base.

This tea tastes similar to The Glow, which is one of my favorite DT blends. I’m very happy to find a similar flavor profile, though this one leans more sour. Depending on what ingredients you end up with in your cup, sometimes it’s very sour. Otherwise, it’s almost like tasty oatmeal cookies, but this time with cranberries. Really, most of this blend is cranberry/hibiscus/rose hips, so the sourness isn’t surprising. The Glow is definitely the much better tea, but this one is an okay substitute. I’ll try to keep steep times shorter to curb the sourness.

The health benefits and smell, are not the only great things about this tea. The flavour of Dandelion Detox makes this tea an amazing post-meal cup. The cranberry and cinnamon compliment each other well, allowing for the bitter taste dandelion often produces to be very well masked. If you were looking into this tea for flavour alone, I would say that Dandelion detox fits in very well with your other cozy fall faves!

Initial tartness/pucker because it is cranberry w/ a lot of hibiscus – but then softens a bit more into a gentler cranberry with soft cinnamon and herbal elements. It’s giving me a bit of a cranberry oatmeal vibe, but also sort of reminding me of aspects of The Glow. Have I had this iced yet? I bet it’s great iced…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
