Yes, it does exist: a delicious rooibos. To produce this lesser-known green variety, the South African shrub’s leaves are oxidized lightly, similar to green tea. The lively, peachy-sweet, no-caff brew packs vitamins and minerals and also makes a refreshing isotonic cold drink.Read more

Advent tea
Grassy with a sweet apricot aftertaste. Smells grassy too. The apricot isn’t enough to outweigh the slightly bitter and green note from the rooibos. Not something I need to drink again.

Paper & Tea 2022 Advent Day 17: Green Rooibos

I’ve never had a straight green rooibos and it was what one might expect. Fine, but nothing special.

Much lighter tasting than a normal rooibos. Less caramel and more grassy and woody notes. Dry mouthfeel but also sweetness on the tongue. I should experiment with shorter steeping time.
